@hovinthenorth@theisaacmed Manufacturing in-house is the exact opposite of operational simplicity. It's a hell of a lot easier to send a PO and receive products without knowing everything about the equipment, raw materials, and managing a team of manufacturers.

8+ years in and it feels like we’re just getting started. Batches might be bigger, but it’s incredible to see how little the leash has changed over the years.
@JeremiahPrummer@seanfrank Every founder needs conviction to do things differently. For bootstrapped founders leaving “good jobs”, how’s it different from the countless people telling you it won’t work? Founders are constantly given bad advice, why blame the advice instead of the founder?
@JeremiahPrummer@seanfrank Ya I dunno, raising money during wild market conditions and spending 3 years burning through other people’s money without building a profitable business sounds like they focused on vanity metrics instead of building an actual business.
I drive a Y now but seeing it’s only 30mpg to break even, I miss my 2013 Passat TDI. I remember doing DEN>ATX (900 miles) @ 85mph and only stopped for diesel once. Compared to 7 charging stops for +3.5hr (minimum) in the Y, it’s hard to justify a 25% longer drive that’s more expensive
@RomanEcom Something like 90% of Japanese woman own at least one item from LV, Asia loves luxury. I also don’t think Rimowa went after the US as hard because they had to compete more with Tumi.
