ప్రజాస్వామ్య వ్యవస్థపై @ncbn నేతృత్వంలోని కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం క్రూరంగా చేసిన దాడిని ఈరోజు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రత్యక్షంగా చూసింది. స్థానిక ఎన్నికల నామినేషన్ల తొలిరోజే వైయస్సార్‌సీపీ అభ్యర్థులపై టీడీపీ గూండాల దాడులతో పాటు, హత్య చేస్తామని బెదిరించడంతో పాటు, చివరకు నామినేషన్లు కూడా వేయకుండా అడ్డుకున్నారు. పలు వాహనాలకు నిప్పు పెట్టారు. నామినేషన్‌ పత్రాలను లాక్కుని చించివేశారు. ఇంత జరుగుతున్నా శాంతి భద్రతలను కాపాడుతూ, రాజ్యాంగాన్ని పరిరక్షించాల్సిన పోలీసులు ప్రేక్షకపాత్ర పోషించారు. కొన్ని చోట్ల ఈ దౌర్జన్యాల్లో భాగస్వాములుగా కూడా మారారు. తమ విధులను నిర్వర్తించని పోలీసులు చంద్రబాబు ఆదేశాలకు అనుగుణంగా వ్యవహరించారు.

పుంగనూరులో వైయస్సార్‌సీపీ లోక్‌సభాపక్ష నేత, రాజంపేట ఎంపీ పీవీ మిథున్ రెడ్డిపై జరిగిన హత్యాయత్నాన్ని నేను తీవ్రంగా ఖండిస్తున్నాను. పార్టీ అభ్యర్థులతో నామినేషన్లు వేయించేందుకు వెళ్లిన ఆయన వాహనశ్రేణిపై టీడీపీ గూండాలు రాళ్లు, కర్రలు, ఇనుపరాడ్లతో దాడి చేశాయి. ఆయనకు భద్రత కల్పిస్తున్న సీఆర్‌పీఎఫ్‌ సిబ్బందిని గాయపరిచాయి. వాహనాలను ధ్వంసం చేశాయి. మా అభ్యర్థులను నామినేషన్లు వేయకుండా అడ్డుకున్నాయి. నామినేషన్ల స్వీకరణ కేంద్రం ప్రాంగణంలోనే పోలీసుల కళ్లెదుట ఇదంతా జరిగింది. ఇంత జరిగిన తర్వాత కూడా మా అభ్యర్థులను మూడు గంటలకు పైగా వేచి ఉంచిన అధికారులు వారి నామినేషన్‌ పత్రాలను మాత్రం స్వీకరించలేదు. లోక్‌సభలో మా పార్టీ పక్ష నేతకే రక్షణ లేకపోతే సామాన్య ప్రజలకు ఎలాంటి భద్రత ఉంటుందని ఆశించగలం?

రాయచోటిలో మా అభ్యర్థులను నామినేషన్లు వేయవద్దంటూ బెదిరించారు. ఆ బెదిరింపులను లెక్కచేయకుండా ముందుకు వెళ్లడంతో టీడీపీ గూండాలు మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే జి.శ్రీకాంత్‌రెడ్డి కార్యాలయంపై దాడి చేశాయి. పార్టీ కార్యాలయానికి, వాహనాలకు నిప్పుపెట్టాయి. మా కార్యకర్తలను గాయపరిచాయి. ఈ దాడులకు పాల్పడిన వారిపై కేసులు నమోదు చేసి, మా అభ్యర్థులకు రక్షణ కల్పించాల్సిన పోలీసులు అందుకు విరుద్ధంగా వ్యవహరించారు. అభ్యర్థుల ఎంపిక, నామినేషన్‌ పత్రాల తయారీ కోసం మా పార్టీ కార్యాలయంలో సమావేశమైన కార్యకర్తలనే అక్కడి నుంచి వెళ్లిపోవాలని ఆదేశించారు. మా పార్టీ కార్యాలయానికి నిప్పు పెడుతున్నా పోలీసులు మౌన ప్రేక్షకులుగా మిగిలిపోయారు.

తిరుపతిలో మా పార్టీ మహిళా అభ్యర్థి నామినేషన్‌ పత్రాలను లాక్కుని చించివేశారు. మా నాయకులపై దాడులు చేశారు. ధర్మవరంలో పోలీసుల సమక్షంలోనే అభ్యర్థులపై దాడి చేసి, నామినేషన్‌ పత్రాలను లాక్కున్నారు. కడపలో 30వ డివిజన్‌ అభ్యర్థిని అడ్డుకోవడమే కాకుండా, రిటర్నింగ్‌ అధికారికి సమర్పించిన నామినేషన్‌ పత్రాలను కూడా లాక్కుని చించివేశారు. అయినా ఒక్క కేసు కూడా నమోదు చేయలేదు. ఎవరిపైనా చర్యలు తీసుకోలేదు. పోలీసుల ఈ సిగ్గుమాలిన నిర్వాకంతో టీడీపీ శ్రేణులు బహిరంగంగానే ఎన్నికల ప్రక్రియను అడ్డుకునేందుకు తెగబడుతున్నాయి. దాచేపల్లిలో మా నగర పంచాయతీ చైర్మన్‌ అభ్యర్థి వాహనంలో మద్యం సీసాలు పెట్టి ఆయనను నామినేషన్‌ వేయకుండా నిర్బంధించారు.

ప్రభుత్వ యంత్రాంగం తన పార్టీ సొంత ఆస్తి కాదన్న విషయాన్ని చంద్రబాబు గుర్తించాలి. ఇలా హింస, దౌర్జన్యాలతో ప్రజల్లో కోల్పోయిన విశ్వాసాన్ని టీడీపీ తిరిగి పొందలేదు. ఇలాంటి ప్రతి దాడి, ప్రజల పక్షాన నిలబడి, వారి ప్రజాస్వామ్య హక్కులను కాపాడాలన్న మా సంకల్పాన్ని మరింత బలోపేతం చేస్తుంది.

వైయస్సార్‌సీపీ కార్యకర్తలందరికీ నేను అండగా నిలబడతాను. బెదిరింపులకు లొంగేది లేదు. ప్రజాస్వామ్య పరిరక్షణ కోసం చేస్తున్న పోరాటాన్ని వీడే ప్రసక్తే లేదు. ప్రతి ఘటనపైనా సమగ్ర దర్యాప్తు జరగాలి. దాడులకు పాల్పడిన ప్రతి ఒక్కరినీ బాధ్యులను చేయాలి. ఈ హింసకు సహకరించిన ప్రతి అధికారిని కూడా జవాబుదారీగా నిలబెట్టాలి.

రాష్ట్ర ఎన్నికల సంఘం (ఎస్‌ఈసీ) తక్షణమే జోక్యం చేసుకోవాలి. దాడులు, బెదిరింపుల కారణంగా నామినేషన్లు దాఖలు చేయలేకపోయిన అభ్యర్థులందరికీ నామినేషన్లు వేసే అవకాశం కల్పించాలి. కేంద్ర బలగాలను మోహరించి ఎన్నికలకు భద్రత కల్పించాలి. అభ్యర్థులు ఎలాంటి భయాందోళనలు లేకుండా పోటీ చేసే పరిస్థితులు ఉండాలి. ప్రజలు తమ ప్రతినిధులను స్వేచ్ఛగా ఎన్నుకునే వాతావరణం కల్పించాలి.

నామినేషన్ల దాఖలుకు కేంద్రీకృత విధానాన్ని లేదా పారదర్శకమైన, సురక్షితమైన ఆన్‌లైన్‌ నామినేషన్‌ విధానాన్ని అందుబాటులోకి తీసుకు రావాలి. అన్ని పోలింగ్‌ కేంద్రాల్లో సీసీటీవీ కెమెరాలు ఏర్పాటు చేసి, ప్రత్యక్ష ప్రసార ఫుటేజీ అందుబాటులో ఉంచాలి. బ్యాలెట్‌ బాక్సులను ట్యాంపరింగ్‌ చేయకుండా నిరోధించేందుకు అన్ని స్ట్రాంగ్‌ రూమ్‌లలో సీసీటీవీ ప్రత్యక్ష ప్రసార పర్యవేక్షణ ఉండాలి. అన్ని ఓట్ల లెక్కింపు కేంద్రాల్లోనూ సీసీటీవీ ప్రత్యక్ష ప్రసార పర్యవేక్షణ ఏర్పాటు చేయాలి. బ్యాలెట్ పేపర్ అకౌంట్‌లోని సంతకాలను సక్రమంగా పరిశీలించడంతో పాటు ఓట్ల లెక్కింపు ప్రక్రియ మొత్తాన్ని పర్యవేక్షించాలి.

స్థానిక ఎన్నికలు స్వేచ్ఛాయుతంగా, నిష్పక్షపాతంగా నిర్వహించేందుకు పారా మిలిటరీ బలగాలను రప్పించాలి.

Andhra Pradesh today witnessed a brutal attack on democracy under @ncbn's coalition government. On the first day of municipal nominations, YSRCP candidates faced attacks, death threats and attempts to stop them from filing nominations. Vehicles were burnt and nomination papers snatched and torn. Police remained mere spectators, in some cases party to the crime as well, dancing to Naidu's tunes instead of maintaining law and order and upholding the Constitution.

I strongly condemn the murder attempt on YSRCP Lok Sabha Floor Leader and Rajampet MP, P. V. Midhun Reddy in Punganur. TDP workers attacked his convoy, which had gone there to file the nominations, with stones, sticks and iron rods, injured his CRPF security staff, damaged vehicles and blocked our candidates from filing nominations while police watched all this in the premises of the nomination filing centre. Even after this, officials did not accept their nomination papers despite making them wait for over three hours. If our Lok Sabha Floor Leader is unsafe, what protection can ordinary people expect?

In Rayachoti, our candidates were threatened not to file nominations. When they proceeded despite these threats, TDP workers attacked former MLA Srikanth Reddy's office, set it and vehicles on fire, and injured our workers. Instead of registering cases against those responsible and protecting our candidates, police ordered our workers to leave our party office, where they had gathered to select candidates and prepare nomination papers, while it is our own party office that was set on fire while police remained mute spectators.

In Tirupati, a woman candidate's papers were snatched and torn, and our leaders were attacked. In Dharmavaram, candidates were attacked and their papers snatched in police presence. In Kadapa, our 30th Division candidate was
obstructed, and papers submitted to the Returning Officer were snatched and torn. Yet no case was registered and no action was taken against them. This shameful inaction gives TDP workers a free hand to obstruct elections in full public view. In Dachepalli, police planted liquor and forcibly detained our Nagar Panchayat chairman candidate to prevent him from filing his nomination.

Chandrababu Naidu must understand that government machinery is not his party's property. Violence cannot give the TDP the public confidence it has lost. Every attack strengthens our resolve to stand with the people and defend their democratic rights.

I stand firmly with every YSRCP worker. We will not surrender to threats or abandon our democratic fight. Every incident must be investigated, every attacker held accountable, and every officer who enabled this violence made answerable.

The SEC must intervene immediately, ensure that all affected candidates can file nominations, and secure the deployment of Central forces. Candidates must be able to contest without fear, and people must be free to choose their representatives.

Centralised or transparent and safe online nominations should be made available. Proper CCTV live footage should be put in place in polling stations. CCTV live footage should be placed in all strong rooms to prevent tampering of ballot boxes. CCTV live footage should be in place in all counting stations to ensure proper verification of the signatures on ballot paper account and to monitor the counting process in the counting stations. Central government forces (Paramilitary forces) should be brought in to ensure that free and fair elections are conducted.

I welcome the Andhra Pradesh High Court's decision to transfer Gade Saikrishna's custodial death case to the CBI and also directing the State Government to pay 25 lakh to his mother within four weeks. This judgment is a slap on the face of the Chandrababu Naidu government. A heinous crime committed with no sense of remorse!

We have consistently demanded a CBI inquiry and a thorough investigation into the role of senior police officials, including the DGP and the Vijayawada Commissioner of Police. Rank and political protection must never place anyone above the law.

Chandrababu Naidu sought to bury this case through a State-controlled SIT instead of ensuring an independent investigation. His government must answer for the lapses in the probe and the failure to adequately examine the role of senior officials, which today highlighted the need for a CBI enquiry. Appointing a SIT cannot become an excuse to shield those who should face scrutiny.

The CBI must uncover the full truth, establish responsibility and bring everyone involved to justice, regardless of their position. @ncbn garu cannot wash his hands of his government's responsibility. Saikrishna's mother deserves answers, accountability and justice. We will stand firmly with his family until justice is delivered.

Murder attempt on Midhun Reddy, an assault on democracy: YSRCP

Tadepalli, Oct 16: YSRCP State General Secretary and MLC Lella Appireddy and party Legal Cell State President Manohar Reddy condemned the attack on Loksabha floor leader MP PV Midhun Reddy in Punganur, describing it as an attempt on his life and a direct assault on the democratic process.
YSRCP leaders later met the election nodal officer and submitted a complaint over the Punganur and Rayachoti incidents and obstruction of nominations, stating that the party would continue its legal and constitutional fight for free and fair elections.
Addressing the media at the YSRCP Central Office, they said attacks, threats and cases against party leaders and candidates had begun from the very first day of nominations for the local-body elections. They cited the Punganur attack on Midhun Reddy, the detention of Dachepalli municipal chairman candidate Koppula Ravikumar, and incidents involving candidates and leaders in Tadipatri, Pattikonda, Rayachoti and Tirupati.
Appireddy said the government was using political pressure and the police machinery to obstruct opposition candidates because it feared facing elections freely. He questioned why police remained spectators in Punganur despite advance complaints about possible violence and demanded strict action against those responsible.
Manohar Reddy said Midhun Reddy’s convoy was attacked, people were injured and vehicles were damaged. He also referred to cases against Tadipatri chairman candidate Fayaz Basha, councillor candidates and former MLA Peddareddy, the arrest of former MLA Sridevi’s son in Pattikonda, threats to candidates in Rayachoti, and an attack on a media cameraman recording incidents in Tirupati.
The leaders demanded immediate intervention by the State Election Commission, deployment of Central paramilitary forces wherever necessary, protection for candidates filing nominations, timely issuance of caste and no-dues certificates, and CCTV surveillance of the election process.
