Casually doing some research for my final dissertation chapter and come across the new (or new to me...the dissertating grad student under a laptop rock) Impossible Food "Guide to Talking About Climate Change"

USRSB past-chair and CO cattle rancher, Steve Wooten, will lead a USRSB roundtable discussion at the @AnimalAgTech alongside executive director, Dr. @samjwerth.
There was lots of talk about reducing #foodwaste at #cop27Egypt2022
Just how big of a problem is food waste and what do we stand to gain in terms of climate impacts by reducing it?
Blog from @GHGGuru explains ๐

Opportunities for the entire food system to make meaningful progress in this sustainability space are endless!
Furthermore, #beef is a ๐ component to a healthy, resilient & sustainable food system. Especially in the face of feeding a growing ๐ population. /4
In the last two months I have had the opportunity to participate in 2 international & 4 National events centered around #SustainableBeef & #ResilientFoodSystems. If I could sum these events into three themes/words they would be:

๐คPARTNERSHIP
@USRSBeef is an incredible example of how partnerships across sectors in the beef value chain can move the needle for an entire industry.
BUT partnerships outside of our respective silos are critical to ensuring a resilient and sustainable food system. 3/
Kicking off Day 1 of the Sustainable Ag Summit. Come say hi at our @USRSBeef booth and learn more about what we are doing to move the needle on #SustainableBeef!
@Godwin_UQ @CarbonBrief@GHGGuru@ILRI @Luis_PradaSilva The โper kg productโfunctional unit is so not fit for purpose! Except maybe a $/kg BuffettโฆDo you eat food based on weight or nutritional composition of that food? A kg of lettuce ๐ฅฌ is clearly different from a kg of milk ๐ฅ or a kg of beef ๐ฅฉ from a nutritional perspective ๐คทโโ๏ธ
What a fantastic week at the Global Conference on #SustainableBeef! Entering the weekend feeling optimistic about the incredible work being done globally to ensure beef is not only sustainable but also key to a food & nutrient secure future!

โTo work in agriculture is an honorable occupation. Feeding people is a privilege, but feeding people sustainably is an obligation.โ Cameron Bruett, Chief Sustainability Officer, @JBSGlobal#SustainableBeef#GCSB22#GRSBb@GRSBeef@USRSBeef
Human health is a critical component of a sustainable food system and beef has a critical role to play in meeting and addressing the needs of an already undernourished global population. #GCSB22#GRSB#SustainableBeef@USRSBeef@GRSBeef#COP27
Kicking off day two of #GCSB22 with an esteemed panel discussion on human health, food security and where beef plays a critical role for our growing global population. 1/

Dr. Brad Morgan covered food waste and a call to action: we can & must do better.
If food waste were a country, it would be the 3rd largest GHG emitter. Meat is the least wasted food, which begs to ?: what can we do to help make a difference. (Hint - it isnโt giving up meat)
All of this to say - there are efforts happening on a global scale to utilize ๐๐ฎ as valuable tools to enhance ecosystems & demonstrate #naturepositive benefits of grazing cattle. This ties directly into a sustainable food supply of which cattle are a critical component! 4/4
Fantastic #GCSB22 panel on global efforts to address the @GRSBeef Nature Positivity goal.
Common misconception: beef production has a net negative impact on the environment.
This panel has demonstrated that #SustainableBeef production is key to healthy environments! 1/
In Colombia, El Hatico Natural Reserve has been working for decades to enhance their lands and be net positive contributors to nature through grazing cattle. Increasing soil organic matter, biomass, carrying capacity and more without the need for synthetic fertilizers. 3/
