Eating healthy and staying active is something I have stuck to so far this year as a resolution. Referral code: 797KPE
@HerrildKelsey I feel your pain. I have a kindergartener, and it was a struggle. He needed assistance finding materials and always had lots of questions, and it was also difficult for his teacher who was trying her best to prepare them and help them and teach them.
@AlyssaLockwoo12 Yes! The number of times my son (kindergarten) and I have to pause videos and restart them for deeper understanding is immense. So helpful! Especially because learners are all in different places in their learning and understanding.
@PersingNicole I do hope that the chaos of having to learn virtually does help my students with their future courses if they choose to continue their education in that way. They will be better prepared for online learning than I was when I took my first online course in college.
@KaciKepferland Yes! We had advisory groups and it was all about mental health check-ins and supporting each other, not curriculum related at all. I had more participation there than any other class.
@AmandaD27557349 Sometimes with all the chaos of hybrid teaching, I worry that I'm stretched thin and that I won't be able to show my students all the work I really am doing in an effort to help them grow. It's a struggle.
@HansaNarang17 Yes!!! 🙌 I know sometimes as teachers we ensure we reach out to those who are struggling but we need to celebrate those who have shown even small improvements and those who never even faltered with all the changes thrown at them.
It is perhaps not surprising that courses with high levels of social presence result in a stronger feeling
of community among the participants. -I hope we can manifest this is these courses as well as the ones we teach. #NotaDog#643Sp21
...distinguished between “interaction” and “presence” in
an online environment, suggesting that “presence” is a sense of “being” online that manifests through
interactions between individuals This is actually really helpful. #NotaDog#643Sp21
Learning online can be isolating for students. Some students may prefer to be anonymous—on the outset, at least—until they feel comfortable participating in the course. Online learning has been a struggle for my students who struggle with social anxiety. #NotaDog#643Sp21
These bios can become profiles that allow for a deeper understanding of student motivations, desires, and concerns. -I would like to try more TechEd avenues that allows this kind of connection. #GetPresent#643Sp21
When we see our students face to face, we see facial
expressions and body language. Teachers want to
know how to “see” these aspects when teaching online. This, there is so much more to being a teacher than just teaching curriculum. #GetPresent#643Sp21
@BahorskiSara Soooo true! We often talk about how difficult working in the virtual space is, but even the face to face space has many changes. I sometimes don't know which student is talking even. It's a struggle to gauge understanding also when a student has a mask covering half their face.
@karikcmu With that, I also find it's easier to make learning connections and build relationships with students, which is so much harder in the virtual atmosphere.
@AmandaD27557349 This is why so many teachers switch to a gradeless classroom, to give and ensure worthwhile feedback for students to learn and grow from.
