@alexisxrivas@sam_d_1995 How much less? You need to quantify with some data because I’m not convinced, and it doesn’t seem like anyone else is. Especially with the long stoplights.
New York City's Airbnb ban has not made housing more available or less expensive; but it has made visiting New York more expensive and less convenient. https://t.co/tlxmu8Nw5V
@AntounNabhan@maxdubler When I’m doing engineering (and I don’t do transportation but the same things generally apply) I’m not looking at standards/guidelines and accepting them face-value. It’s about asking why things are the way they are, and in this case, new data makes a strong case for the contrary
@AntounNabhan@maxdubler The reason many DOTs don’t use it these days is because it frankly just outdated and sucks for the reasons above. Industry has (and should) move forward from outdated regulation that’s not rooted in current research. Engineering is being able to look back and correct mistakes.
Hundreds of folks on social media do believe that the IBR are “dumbest folks around” and have intentionally lied about an immersed tunnel.
Funding is political, has no correlation to IBR’s intelligence.
IBR’s email explaining their errors evaluating an immersed tunnel is proof.
