New on the blog! "Trump is Turning 'Counterterrorism' into an International Campaign Against the Left" by Associate Director of Political Education and Research Samer Araabi.
Now everyone can probably see that @scott_wiener has a tough road ahead campaigning against @conniechansf now that Saikat is out. He needs attention, funding, and defenders. War is not popular. Waffling is unbecoming of a leader. This video is from January.
@Scott_Wiener Scott Wiener: let's get pro-Palestine activists fired, harassed, and blacklisted for speaking out against genocide.
Also Scott Wiener: "when opposition and disagreement transition to harassment... it crosses a line"

@Scott_Wiener An "unscripted, unvarnished look" where the no one can ask any questions or do anything unscripted. Why is San Francisco stuck with these phony corporate goons while the rest of the country is kicking them to the curb?
@decadimitry@nadiarahmansf Do we allow for the possibility that people's views evolve and change? Can't think of many people who have gone harder on Scott Wiener in the last two years than Nadia.
Two years ago, a group of pro-Palestinian protestors blocked Golden Gate bridge for four hours to bring attention to the genocide going on in Gaza. Protesters have blocked Golden Gate bridge for decades -- famously, AIDS activists did so in 1989 to bring attention to the mass die off that was happening then.
What's different this time is the draconian charges that have been brought down on the protesters. Seven of those activists are currently standing trial and facing up to 15 years in prison. They are being charged with "false imprisonment," which is a first for this kind of action.
At a time that Trump is cracking down on free speech and political protest, it makes no sense for San Francisco, the home of protests like this, to be cracking down at home. The DA should drop these charges.
Violence against innocent people is wrong. We’ve been saying it for years.
@SFJCRC’s selective outrage in the context of their pro-war cheerleading and outright genocide denial speaks for itself.
Impossible. For this to be true, Ezra Klein, Matt Yglesias, Neera Naden, WelcomePAC, the Center for American Progress, Jonathan Josh Shapiro, John Fetterman, Chuck Schumer, Kristen Gillibrand, Reid Hoffman, and The Argument would all have to be wrong. That can't be the case.
CSU Sonoma State has seen enrollment crater and its deficit soar since the controversy where @Scott_Wiener and the CA Jewish Caucus got the president Mike Lee fired for ‘insubordination’, over an unapproved deal with pro‑Palestine protesters.

As a tumultuous year comes to a close, we’ve witnessed profound changes in the political landscape in just a few short months.
In many ways, the cause of Palestinian liberation has made unprecedented strides, not only in rapidly shifting public opinion… 🧵/1
WATCH: An anti-genocide activist confronted #CA11 candidate @Scott_Wiener regarding his support for the Israeli ethnostate during an event at San Francisco State University
In a world with a real antisemitism problem, @Scott_Wiener's cynical weaponization of it in furtherance of Israel's genocide of Palestinians—and getting people who oppose it fired from their jobs—is utterly despicable. https://t.co/ttFTlEiONb
He should face consequences.
@Scott_Wiener "Israel has every right to defend itself & oust Hamas." - Scott Wiener, 2024
Genuinely can't think of a single SF politico who did more to shield Israel from criticism than this guy. What a disgrace.
