I still think no one should mock @Keerthana4VNR's proficiency of English. Speaking English fluently is not a certificate of intelligence or competence. A Minister in Tamil Nadu needs to be proficient in Tamil. That's enough.

Her handling of this situation though is alarming. I'm inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt once because she's only 30 and is probably unaware of how to speak to children.

She should learn that this is an absolutely unacceptable way to treat a child. Children must be nurtured, encouraged and motivated. Never publicly shamed. They'll develop fear, anxiety and phobias that might stunt their adult life.

When people made fun of her English, I felt bad. Not everyone studies in an English medium school, and speaking English well takes time. But after watching her make fun of school students for not answering questions and blaming backbenchers, I felt disappointed.
