Our founder @RamaAfullo joined the third annual Fenwick Space Summit. Great conversations with the people building the future of space. Thank you @FenwickWest for bringing this community together. See you at year four. #SpaceTech#NewSpace
2026 is the year "AI data centers in space" went mainstream.
Putting servers in orbit is half the job. Someone has to run them.
Satlyt orchestrates AI workloads across satellites to process data in orbit and send down answers.
#OrbitalDataCenters#SpaceAI
Running AI in space requires strict power and bandwidth management.
Satlyt is deploying Gemma directly on satellites to analyze telemetry and diagnose faults locally. Running Gemma 3 1B onboard cuts diagnostic data payloads by over 64%, turning raw system logs into compact summaries before they are sent back to Earth.
Next launch target: Gemma 4 E2B on NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano to provide further reasoning and vision capabilities at the edge… of space.
At Small Sat 2026, Aerospace revealed DiskSat’s on-orbit data and mission milestones. Hear from the DiskSat team and licensees on how the platform is shaping small satellite innovation.

Earlier today in Berlin, our MD Kwaku Sumah participated in a dialogue hosted by Global perspectives on advancing Africa–Europe space partnerships.
The discussions centred on Africa’s space economy, & sustainable partnerships, with Dr Tidiane Ouattara & Rama Afullo.
#AfricaSpace
Africa’s space momentum is accelerating.
At Meridian’s Space Diplomacy Forum, leaders explored how partnerships and investment are shaping the continent’s next chapter, a shift now reflected in Angola’s progress and growing African Space Agency momentum.

$IONQ
A power grid. In orbit. Not for Earth for other satellites.
Star Catcher just closed a $65M Series A. Proof point: 1.1 kW beamed by laser to a satellite, November 2025 at NASA Kennedy Space Center. World record, beating DARPA's prior 800W.
Their thesis: by 2030, satellites will need 20x more power. Onboard solar panels don't scale anymore.
What the build looks like:
→ Planned constellation of ~200 power nodes at 1,500–2,000 km
→ Optical beaming: 100W to 100kW transmitted directly to existing client solar panels
→ No retrofit. 2x to 10x more power on demand.
Track record so far:
→ March 2025 - first ground demo, 100W beamed at Jacksonville Jaguars' EverBank Stadium
→ November 2025 - world record 1.1 kW at NASA Kennedy Space Center
→ Late 2025 - acquisition/tracking software flight-tested on a Loft Orbital satellite
→ Late 2026 - first space-to-space in-orbit demo planned
→ 7 Power Purchase Agreements signed. $60M in contracts. $3B qualified pipeline.
Who's building this. The founding team comes out of Made In Space → Redwire (NYSE:RDW), one of the top solar array suppliers to the ISS:
→ Andrew Rush (CEO) - ex-CEO Made In Space, ex-COO Redwire. Led iROSA, the program that replaced the ISS's solar arrays. NASA Advisory Council member.
→ Michael Snyder (CTO) - ex-CTO Redwire. 50+ patents, AIAA Lawrence Sperry Award 2022.
The signal worth pausing on: the two people who spent their careers building solar arrays for the ISS left Redwire in 2024 to build a company whose thesis is that solar arrays alone aren't enough. When the experts of the problem leave the incumbent to solve it from above, the market is worth tracking.
Customers already on contract: Starcloud (orbital data centers with NVIDIA H100 GPUs), Astro Digital, Loft Orbital, Satlyt, Mission Space.
New board, announced this week: General Jay Raymond - first Chief of Space Operations of the U.S. Space Force representing Cerberus Ventures, alongside Jeff Johnson (B Capital, Head of Energy) and David Rothzeid (Shield Capital, ex-Air Force Acquisition Officer, ex-DIU).
Raymond also sits as Special Advisor at $IONQ . Same general, two boards in adjacent corners of space-defense infrastructure. Read into it what you want.
One sector worth tracking.
