“In many cases, it will be cheaper for the city to subsidize individual Waymo rides for low-income residents than it is to pay the exorbitant salaries, health care, and pension costs of unionized personnel operating largely empty 40-foot buses.” https://t.co/mDPGdjNTzw
In San Francisco we have given our city government $16B in tax revenues for just 830K inhabitants. This is more revenue than entire US states.
And yet, public schools produce low quality outcomes, our streets have potholes and we cannot manage to conserve, treat and house the fentanyl addicts on our streets. Never mind our epic failure in housing.
Truly not a money problem. Entirely a management, competence and policy problem.
@crfrsr@sdamico Cybertrucks do have crumple zones and crumple zones aren't for pedestrian safety. Pedestrians don't really stand a chance against any car if the crumple zone crumples.
Everyone was saying $15 minimum wage and Medicare for All and gay marriage were also unrealistic and ridiculous but activists moved the conversation and pushed politicians toward progress
It's not the job of grass roots activists on the left to craft political messaging for mainstream democratic candidates. I'm almost 100% sure Biden won't be tweeting #DefundThePolice. It's the job of activists to push these politicians toward meaningful change.
My Google Pixel 3 had a little fire. The screen shorted out and flared up. Damage seems to be internal only, but the phone is a brick now. #Pixel3#fire
