This if it happens is a welcome move. The quality of rice is one of the reasons why you will see a lot of சத்துணவு food wasted by school children. If you go to a govt school during lunch time, rice getting dumped is a common sight. We cannot blame the children if the quality is so bad.

TVK govt @AdvocateVenkatP cannot supply high-quality ration rice w/o fixing this:
With the nexus among officials of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, Civil Supplies-CID police and rice mill owners, the practice of re-injecting ration rice into the PDS continues unabated in the southern districts (particularly in Pavoorchatram, Alangulam and Nallur areas). Rice mill owners who obtain govt. contracts for hulling rice sell the fresh paddy supplied by the govt to other mills. They then purchase the ration rice already distributed to consumers through hundreds of middlemen, repack it in govt sacks and re-inject it into the PDS with the support of officials and police. This is why the public in several places are reporting contaminated ration rice.

While more than 20 mills have obtained hulling contracts in Tenkasi district, only one of them is supplying fresh rice to the PDS.

I have reported this many times two years ago. Recently, former Congress MLA K Ravi Arunan has petitioned @CMOTamilnadu demanding action against this practice.

Nearly Rs 90 crore of TWAD Board contract labourers' wages were allegedly being looted every year under Velumani & Nehru administrations. Now the TWAD Board hs bn brought under the direct purview of @TVKVijayHQ @CMOTamilnadu C Joseph Vijay. However, the loot continues.

100s of crores are allegedly being siphoned off through other irregularities too.

CM need not do big things to understand what is happening. Just order an independent scrutiny of the assets of Tenkasi EE S Elango & Tirunelveli EE Kanagaraj, and compare them with their known sources of income.

The truth may expose the entire system.

FIVE SUSPENDED AS CHENNAI POLICE INTENSIFY ANTI-CORRUPTION CRACKDOWN

Five personnel, including four policemen, were suspended by Chennai Police Commissioner A. Amalraj after inquiries found they had demanded or accepted bribes while performing official duties. The action formed part of the city police’s anti-corruption drive launched to curb bribery within the force.

Among those suspended was Traffic Enforcement Wing Sub-Inspector Selvaraj of Chintadripet, who was found to have accepted a ₹500 bribe from a traffic violator before returning the rider’s seized motorcycle.

In another case, Sakthivel, a superintendent attached to the Retirement Section of the city police ministerial staff, was suspended after he demanded money from a retired police officer to clear official files. The action followed a complaint supported by a WhatsApp audio recording, which was verified during an internal inquiry. Three other police personnel were also suspended on similar bribery allegations.

The suspensions came days after the city police established a dedicated Anti-Corruption Unit to receive complaints against police personnel. Commissioner Amalraj warned that officers found demanding or accepting bribes would face both departmental action and criminal prosecution under anti-corruption laws.

As part of the initiative, the department also deployed a dedicated Anti-Corruption Cell with executive and ministerial staff drawn from different police units across the city. Complaints can be lodged through a dedicated helpline and WhatsApp number, with officials assuring confidentiality and prompt verification.

The commissioner also appealed to the public not to offer bribes, but to report any demand for illegal gratification to the Anti-Corruption Unit.

Tamil Nadu government has issued a Government Order to establish Anti- Narcotics Task Force Units in all districts of Tamil Nadu.

A total of 454 posts will be created for the Anti - Narcotics Task Forcw Unit, with ₹264 crore allocated for the purpose.

“I only thought about it and sought to do it. There were many views and opinions on my proposed visit to Bengaluru. I saw it as a positive step towards resolving the problem. Even if I had to face humiliation in that attempt, I was prepared to do so for the sake of the people of Tamil Nadu. I thank everyone who expressed their affection and support,” he said.
