The Minister of State for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the @Presidency_Ug, Hon. Santa Sandra Alum Ogwang, officiated the graduation exhibition and sports gala of the seventh cohort of the Presidential Initiative on Skilling the Girl and Boy Child (@pisgbc) at Makerere University Rugby Grounds, where over 5,000 trainees successfully completed six months of free vocational training and showcased their products and services.

Hon. Ogwang praised President Yoweri Museveni for championing skills development and wealth creation through the initiative, saying it is equipping young Ugandans with practical skills to become self-reliant, create jobs and contribute to Uganda's socio-economic transformation under Vision 2040 and the NDP IV.

Dear @CmaUganda kindly confirm whether Brec Youth Empowerment Africa Limited (also known as Youth Platform Africa) (YPA) is licensed or authorized to offer investment contracts to the public, particularly in goat farming, agroforestry, and agribusiness schemes promising returns on investment.
The public deserves clarity on whether these are regulated investment products or unlicensed schemes operating outside the Capital Markets framework. This is your core responsibility to warn Ugandans of such ventures whether they are genuine or not. This increases investor confidence.
Additionally, please clarify the outcome of any 2023 investigations conducted on this entity and whether any enforcement action or public advisory was issued.
Transparency from regulators is essential to protect Ugandans from potential financial harm.
We also urge relevant oversight institutions, including @BOU_Official and @PoliceUg to take note where necessary.

Vice President Jessica Alupo, who presided over the handover, urged proper management, maintenance, and accountability, stressing that the assets must be used strictly for official duties. Agriculture Minister Frank Tumwebaze said the move addresses farmers’ concerns over inadequate extension services, which have affected adoption of proper farming practices, pest and disease control, and post-harvest handling.

The Vice President of Uganda, @jessica_alupo, along side @FrankTumwebazek and @HellenAdoa have today officially handed over 69 vehicles and 1,034 motorcycles to district local governments under the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project. The handover ceremony, organized by @Maaifclf, marks a significant step towards strengthening agricultural extension services and enhancing monitoring capacity across the 69 project-supported districts.

In her remarks, the Vice President emphasized the government’s commitment to transforming the agricultural sector through improved service delivery and increased accessibility to farmers. She noted that the provision of transport equipment will facilitate extension workers in reaching farmers more efficiently, offering timely advisory services, and ensuring effective supervision of project activities. The intervention is expected to bridge critical mobility gaps that have long hindered field operations, especially in remote and underserved areas.

The Government of Uganda has today handed over vehicles and motorcycles to districts under the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP) at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, in a major step to strengthen agricultural extension services.

Presiding over the function, H.E. the Vice President, @jessica_alupo emphasised the importance of last-mile service delivery:

“For a long time, limited mobility has constrained last-mile service delivery. These vehicles and motorcycles will now enable our extension staff to reach farmers more efficiently, provide timely technical support, and enhance accountability.”

She further urged strict accountability in the use of public assets:

“These are public resources entrusted to you to serve our farmers. Let us not look for more excuses not to serve the farmers.”

The Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, @FrankTumwebazek highlighted the central role of extension services in agricultural transformation:

“One of the most critical enablers of agricultural transformation is a functional extension system… equipping them with mobility means farmers will now receive the advisory services they need to improve productivity and incomes.”

Calling for effective utilisation at district level, the Minister added:

“Let us ensure that we give the public value for money by ensuring that the objective of enhancing access to extension services is realised.”

The Permanent Secretary highlighted the scale and impact of the project:

“This project must deliver results to the farmer, not on paper, but in reality. The success will be measured by the number of livelihoods transformed.”

The UCSATP, supported by the World Bank, is a USD 354 million investment targeting 3.9 million beneficiaries across 69 districts, aimed at increasing productivity, improving market access, and building resilience to climate change.

Government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that these investments translate into real impact at household level through improved service delivery, increased production, and higher farmer incomes.
