@_lindseypowell_ This is a heartbreaking issue. People who are able to reproduce should have job protection when experiencing a miscarriage. No one should have to return to work the next day after facing such a hardship.
@AlihodzicSamra I love this resource! I think it’s amazing that members of the LGBTQI+ have a safe place to talk to someone when they are struggling with self-harm and suicidal ideations.
Kentucky does not have state-wide Fairness Ordinance! The Fairness Ordinance would protect all members of the LGBTQ+ from employment, housing, and public accommodation discrimination. As social workers we must advocate that ALL people should be treated equally #WKUsocialworkpolcy
@BeTheVillageTN This is so heart breaking that this is an issue in 2023! April Valentine died this year during childbirth due to medical neglect. Black women should not have to worry about having appropriate medical care during pregnancies!
@MarissaR464 This is such an important topic to address! There are so many inequalities that Black Americans face in the workforce. Such as difference in wages and the lack of callbacks due to having certain names.
The NAACP advocates for the rights of all individuals, provides awareness of the racial injustice and inequalities within the US, and demands reform for the unjust policies that target POC. The NASW supports the efforts of the NAACP as they are fighting for social justice.
@HannahWestWKUSW I also support SB 88! Like Lauren and Carol, I had no idea that assisted living wasn’t covered by insurance. It is detrimental that all aging individuals can afford to have the appropriate level of care needed to ensure their health and safety.
@ki_takes I think that it is so important that you mentioned elder abuse! Like you mentioned, it is a silent epidemic and it is often never talked about. That is so heartbreaking that 1 in 10 elders have experienced this. We as social workers have to advocate for better changes for them.
The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly aligns with the NASW Code of Ethics by providing service and dignity and worth of the individual. PACE allows the individual to remain home, where they are comfortable, while being provided preventive care and social supports.
@Ltodd20 I think it is important that you mentioned the negative stigma around mental health. As social workers, we will have to fight against the stigma every day to provide effective mental health services. I love that you shared information to the 988 crisis line and coping skills!
@MarissaR464 Thank you for sharing information about this bill! I did not know anything about the KY Youth Mobile Crisis Response Program. I can see how beneficial this resource can be throughout KY. This will be an awesome resource to combat the mental health crisis youth face in KY.
Each day social workers are working hard to improve the mental health rates throughout Kentucky! With support of the NASW, social workers are providing services and respecting the dignity and worth of all individuals who are in need of mental health services.

@kwool93 Thank you for sharing! This statistic is so eye opening! It is detrimental that social workers continue to advocate for all individuals in the United States to have access to cost-efficient, effective health services!
@CB70050440 I support the passing of this bill! Postpartum is often overlooked and misunderstood. All expecting and current mothers need more access to mental health services!
KY HB75 expands the Medicaid Hospital Rate Improvement Program. This will assist in enhancing revenue, saving jobs, and offering better services in hospitals. The NASW supports the process of increasing access to quality health care for Kentuckians!

@CB70050440@JacksonStateRep I think that the passing of HB 82 is so important! All students should have access to their needed accommodations! Your infographic is very informative and visually pleasing!
