Visualizing the difference between 100, 1000, a million, and a billion:
Astronomy has lots of big numbers. For example, the Milky Way has about 200 billion stars.
But just how big are these numbers? A handy image to give some context
Earth compared to a CME:
Solar storms are the most powerful explosions in our solar system, and they can release massive balls of plasma far larger than Earth.
Fortunately, Earth has a magnetic field and several other handy defenses — like being 93 million miles from the Sun.
You're looking at 45,000+ galaxies.

@sxtvik@nftnow@MadLadsNFT@Claynosaurz Executive Editor here. I lead the newsroom and approve coverage. Per our Ethics Policy, I can't (and don't) own NFTs. Happy to revisit team disclosures though, so thanks for the feedback.

@YouMeIGaming @__Talley__@nftnow@kmoney Indeed. Someone else mentioned this earlier today, and I looked up the article where we initially mentioned this. But it really deserves its own page and needs to be expanded etc https://t.co/MpsXHDbBV2
@__Talley__ @YouMeIGaming @nftnow@kmoney Also we are working on making more public facing documents to make the selection process more transparent and clarify things like this.
@__Talley__ @YouMeIGaming @nftnow@kmoney ^correct. We have ethics policies that prevent employees etc. from selection. Otherwise, he would have had my vote. But shhh don’t tell him that 🙂
@swannynfteth@nftnow Hello hello! The list of criteria can be found here. But I agree that we could write an article expanding on this and link to it in the Ethics Policy pinned on our homepage. Will discuss with the team. Thanks! https://t.co/MpsXHDbBV2
@Noahbolanowski@Nate_Rivers@nftnow I understand the concern here. But we do our best to be both transparent and fair. Removing all trace would cause issues with the former. This policy also aligns with what we do in our own content if there are issues. Always open to other ideas though.
@FranzNFTs@nftnow I'm learning this way. NFT makes sense. "Digital collectible" sounds like a trading card and "digital asset" sounds like just a financial vehicle.
That said, it's important to focus on the thing attached to it -- digital art or a membership pass etc. That's what really matters.
