๐งต Epinephrine is the most commonly used drug in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) resuscitation. But does it improve outcomes? And what is the optimal dose?
We studied these questions in our new NMA, in @accpchest. The results surprised us.

@kidney_boy@2thingsteam Love this! I think this is demonstrating how teaching it as the โadd back methodโ is more intuitive then delta/delta ! You add back the AG and if you started out with a met alkalosis then you got 2 things going on
@critconcepts At least that was my memory of the discussion, I always could use a refresher on renal physiology! So may go back and take another listen ๐๐
@critconcepts@kidney_boy@Caulimovirus@kidney_boy gives a great discussion on it through @thecurbsiders podcast I think! Kidneys need the salt to create enough UOP (with free water excretion) to keep up with total free water intake! Also lower gfr -> less ability to dilute urine
@katiewiskar Why is RVSP underestimated in significant TR? Due to assumptions in modified Bernoulli or because the jet peak velocity is less accurately measured?
@Jasonmzkdt @GoodishIntent Yeah, my same thoughts, phenyl may cause some relex brady. So I wonder if NE or Epi might be a better choice most of the time?
Shock. Shock. Shock. Gas prices are at the highest level in 7 years while Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Shell & BP made nearly $25 billion in profits last quarter โ the highest level in over 7 years. The problem is not inflation. The problem is corporate greed, collusion & profiteering.
