@jimcorcoran25 Me either, but it doesn't seem to be a brainless decision by Trump made on a whim.
If I were him and the Navy told me that EMALs was delaying new CVN construction 5yrs and it only worked 1/4th as well as the steam system, I'd sure be saying, "WTF are we doing here?!!"
@jimcorcoran25 Well, from what I've read EMALS is causing major delays in new CVN construction, and its ready status rate is 1/4th that of steam systems.
These are serious National Security level problems for EMALS.

Malheureusement la fiabilité n'est pas au rendez-vous. Un CVN sans catapulte...
Trump a donc demandé une étude de faisabilité pour revenir aux catapultes vapeur à compter du CVN-81.
Quand aux "news" de CNN concernant un changement de nom, j'aimerai voir la confirmation de la Maison Blanche à ce sujet avant de me prononcer.
TDS-afflicted Wikipedia whining about possible naming of CVN-81 as the USS Donald J Trump while a sitting president. Unless laws changed to make a 3rd term possible, he won't be a sitting president when launched in 2029 or commissioned in 2034 - may slip to have EMALS deleted!
