After the Lok Sabha election, I believe that if Annamalai forms a new party, it could potentially align with NTK, AIADMK, PMK, and AMMK.

TVK has already attracted a significant portion of the former DMK alliance vote base, including supporters of MNM and DMDK. Based on my estimate, TVK has already secured around 17% of the vote share that previously belonged to the DMK alliance, which received 48.5% of the vote in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly election.

The NDA alliance, including AMMK, appears to have lost around 15% of its vote share compared to its position in the 2021 Assembly election. I have also considered approximately 2% of NTK's vote share based on the 2021 election results.

Due to anti-incumbency, AIADMK, along with NTK, Annamalai, PMK, and AMMK, may be able to win back around 14%–16% of the voters who initially shifted their support to TVK. At the same time, TVK may continue to attract some traditional DMK voters, including Muslim, Christian, and Scheduled Caste voters.

As a result, the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election could potentially become a three-cornered contest between:

• AIADMK + Annamalai + NTK + PMK + AMMK
• DMK + Kongu-based parties + Muslim parties + other smaller regional parties
• TVK + Congress + VCK + IUML + Communist parties + MDMK

If Annamalai secures more than 15% of the vote share in a future Lok Sabha election, his political prospects could strengthen considerably. In that scenario, there is a possibility that AIADMK could eventually project him as a future leader, with EPS serving as Chief Minister and leaders such as Seeman, Anbumani Ramadoss, and T.T.V. Dhinakaran holding important positions within the alliance.

Another possibility is that, over time, Annamalai could emerge as a major leader within AIADMK, either through a merger, alliance, or growing public support. This could create a political landscape where Udhayanidhi Stalin represents the DMK side, Vijay leads TVK, and Annamalai emerges as the principal leader on the AIADMK side.

If law and order becomes a major election issue and voters seek an alternative to both the DMK and TVK, that could become an additional advantage for Annamalai. Furthermore, his educational background, IPS experience, administrative experience, and public image may help him gain wider acceptance among voters if he consistently achieves a vote share above 15%.

Under this scenario, the contest could gradually evolve into a long-term political battle between Udhayanidhi Stalin (after Stalin), Vijay, and Annamalai (after EPS), representing three different political alternatives in Tamil Nadu.

I also believe that, over the next 10–15 years, either the DMK or TVK could decline significantly, leading to a direct contest between Annamalai and whichever of those two parties remains politically dominant.

My reasoning is that TVK and DMK may end up competing for a similar voter base and following broadly similar ideological positions. If Annamalai continues to position himself as strongly opposing anti-Hindu rhetoric while maintaining respect for Muslims and Christians and avoiding criticism of their faiths, he may be able to build a distinct political identity.

In that situation, Tamil Nadu politics could eventually evolve into a contest between Udhayanidhi Stalin or Vijay on one side and Annamalai on the other.
