And how do you deal with laser pens and glass bottles?

We haven't heard the last of the green laser issue in Senegal. Looked like loads of fans had them. Shone throughout into the eyes of the Egypt players and looked like a huge problem for them in the penalty shoot out.

@seen_them_given@HACKETTREF Another fantastic discussion by Keith and Mike on officiating from the weekend. Thank you for talking about the continued referee abuse in grassroots, youth football - becoming all too often.
After an assistant was hit by a missile at Gresty Road, should referees take players off the pitch the next time it happens?
@HACKETTREF says football should be considering it.

Every week there's bizarre anger & confusion about 'late offside flags'.
"Soon someone will get injured when they were offside anyway!" gets trotted out.
This is why, right? So that really tight offside calls, that can impact results, aren't stopped by a potential human error?
@seen_them_given@HACKETTREF This is a very good referee pre-match talk, straight to the point and stating his boundaries. Though the "high tolerance" for dissent shouldn't be something that he needs to be stated. If captains are not passing this onto their teams and managers, not the referee's fault.
@mikemccarthy@seen_them_given@HACKETTREF When I played there was a ref in @leicsfa that ALWAYS started with the ball in his hand and said "This is what you've come to kick, not each other. If you're stick to kicking this then we'll all have a good day". Another was like 6ft8 tall.BOTH got respected everytime I saw them
