Are Mahayana Sutras really the words of the Buddha? They literally appeared 500 years after the Buddha!

For me, it’s a useless question because if we make that the basis, we cannot be sure of anything the Buddha may or may not have said.

Dharma exists even if a Buddha doesn’t exist. But if Dharma is heard, then it is the Buddha who spoke it. Do the Sutras powerfully express the Dharma? Absolutely!

“Whoever sees the Dharma sees me. Whoever sees me sees the Dharma.”
