@borland@MatthewLennig@triketora It seems only people who work on scaling architectures are saying Elon doesn’t know what he’s doing and his defenders are those that cite his credentials in spacex, Tesla or in the 1990s… not real convincing
@stebets@Nick_Craver I don’t know what to say - on one hand I hate that I’m still reading on twitter, on the other I can’t stop looking at the train wreck and tweets like these just break the internet… (oh and twitter too)
I love Musk and everything he’s built. But I wonder whether my opining about space travel would sound as ignorant as this about “free speech”. Yes, law is not rocket science. But neither is it captured in a tweet.
@RichardfromSyd1@HollyMa42677969@NSWHealth And it’s not just the minefield of racial/religious profiling - there’s also social clusters (younger people) that are non symmetric in transmission - but these are all voluntary. The big non-voluntary reopening of schools will be the one to watch
@RichardfromSyd1@HollyMa42677969@NSWHealth Oh for sure cases are way underreported. I think the daily cases PCR or RAT may as well be randomly generated. Only the hospital numbers are of any use atm if we’re crystalballing.
@RichardfromSyd1@HollyMa42677969@NSWHealth The other factor is that transmission isn’t symmetric across clusters or age cohorts so it’s little hard to predict. You’re better doing cohorts based on religious groups or some ethnic communities where gatherings, meal sharing, worship, etc are more prevalent
@RichardfromSyd1@HollyMa42677969@NSWHealth Seems like the holding admission numbers are encouraging - time in icu is an average - I assume the more susceptible and the younger/healthier die or get discharged quicker. Likely seeing more of the “middle” now fighting for their lives, so I would expect deaths to go up.
@DrScreech@MissyDemeanor1@zakheim_adam@DrHarryThomas I wouldn’t say “rarely”, rather “nigh impossible” It’s a fine line between arrogance and expertise and that’s annoying, but a lousy expert is probably right 50% of the time vs a smart layman who might get it right 5% of the time. Which odds would you take?
@Boxhead_31@NSWHealth@nick_coatsworth I did make a note at the time of “his opinion vs data modelling”. “I don’t think it’s right…”. I mean if he was going to refute it at least come up with a method…
Now if you can’t read data in a field that you’re purportedly and expert in…
@JarvisInteriors@Philbrandel1@RealCandaceO DV is on the rise - that’s within expectation, as is with relationship breakdowns. But it could also be just underreporting. Hopefully higher reports mean more people seeking help in bad situations.
