By Jasmine Crockett:
"Hey Tim Scott,
You spent years tap dancing through every interview, every speech, every Sunday show appearance telling America that racism was basically over and that your success story proved everybody else just needed to work harder and complain less.
You carried water for people who mocked civil rights, demonized poor people, gutted diversity programs, attacked voting rights, and treated Black history like a disease.
And for what?
No VP slot.
No cabinet throne.
No real power.
Not even basic respect.
You confessed your admiration on national television for people who viewed you as nothing more than a convenient talking point — the “See? We have one!” guy standing in the background smiling on cue.
Then the second you showed the smallest trace of independence and questioned that disgusting Obama monkey post, your own side turned on you like starving wolves.
Suddenly the loyal house servant wasn’t loyal enough.
Now you’re sitting in a car recording cellphone videos reminding the world that you’re still Black.
Trust us, Senator — nobody forgot.
The problem is that you spent so much time trying to convince other people that racism wasn’t real that now, when it smacks you directly in the face, you want sympathy from the same community you lectured for years.
You defended the people stripping away protections for minorities, women, the poor, and working-class families. You stood beside people cheering the destruction of programs our grandparents marched, bled, and died for.
And now you look shocked that the crowd you entertained never actually saw you as an equal.
The Bible talks about the Prodigal Son returning home after losing everything.
But the Prodigal Son came home humble.
You spent years helping burn the house down.
And now you’re politically homeless:
too Black for the people you defended,
too eager to defend them for the people you abandoned.
That’s the tragedy of selling your dignity for a seat at a table that was never meant for you.
Tim, you may be the PRODIGAL SON, BUT YOU CAN’T COME HOME."
We saw it coming. He didn't want to.
Promotion Ceremonies have become a new/honored tradition whereby those who rise in rank are recognized for their previous, current, and future leadership contributions.
Today we honored Sergeants Kelvin Waymer and Preston Wiley.
Congratulations & thank you for your service.
Good news, DC! Outdoor pool season has officially begun.
17 outdoor pools and 35 spray parks are open today through Monday 10AM-6PM.
While rain is in the forecast, pools will open as long as conditions remain safe for lifeguards to monitor and as long as there is no lightning.
We are deeply grateful for Chancellor Ferebee’s eight years of service to our students, schools, and city.
Under the leadership of our longest-serving Chancellor, graduation rates reached 78%, enrollment grew to more than 52,000 students, and DC became a national leader in academic recovery.
These achievements are the result of clear focus, strong vision, and a shared commitment to our students.
We are proud to see his impact extend beyond the District, and know his leadership will continue to shape the future of DCPS for years to come.
Chancellor, you have done not just a great job—but an outstanding job. Thank you.
We're proud to welcome visitors from all over the world to experience DC's museums—including our beloved institution dedicated to the sound of DC, the Go-Go Museum & Cafe.
This International Museum Day, we recognize museums as hubs of culture, history, and storytelling.
@maustermuhle@MayorBowser The DC Council routinely passes emergency legislation along with the permanent version of the bill so that the measure goes into effect immediately. They twice punted on passing an Emergency Curfew bill that would have prevented a lapse. They should fix this asap!
Tim White embodied public service at its very best.
From leading the Office of East of the River Development to advancing affordable housing efforts across the District, Tim's work helped shape our city for the better. He was humble, kind, and passionate about delivering for our residents and the city he loved.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and loved ones at this time.

Nationals Park is the blueprint for successful sports investment in Washington, DC.
In 2006, our city made a bold $611M investment to transform a vacant lot into a world-class stadium. Mayor Williams and the Lerner family helped ensure it became a destination for sports, entertainment, and community.
Today, that vision has transformed Navy Yard—welcoming 88+ restaurants, 7,900 residences, 5 hotels, and 19,000 residents since 2008.
It has also helped transform our city into the Sports Capital.
And as we celebrate this afternoon's home opener for the @Nationals, it's a reminder: sports are fun and games, but they're also dollars and cents.
Critical moments call for calm, steady support.
