All Indian Banks are running on Whatsapp. Sensitive Data, Business figures & instructions shared through it, India's Banking regulator is sleeping over such tiking Bomb. Gross violations of Bank's own social media policy being done by every executives.
An earnest request to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra to declare Monday, 9th November 2026, as a Bank Holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, as Deepawali falls on Sunday, 8th November 2026.
Thousands of bank officers and employees serve away from their native places and deserve an opportunity to celebrate this important festival with their families.
States including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Manipur and Tamil Nadu have reportedly declared 9th November as a holiday on this occasion.
We urge the Government of Maharashtra to extend the same consideration to banking employees in the State, in line with these States, and declare 9th November 2026 as a Bank Holiday.
A three-day break from 7th to 9th November will provide much-needed relief to employees and their families.

Public sector bank employees has to work on a Sunday.
Today is a once in generation opportunity for private sector working class to show it to their parents who always say Govt job is the best, show them that they've to go to office while you're chilling at home.
Even we get 5 days banking week as per our service regulations we will be available for duty throughout the day even on holiday if our services are required in an emergency.that does not mean bankers can be forced to work 24*7 because that is illegal and violation of the law of the land .
Public sector banks official working hours is 7 hours with half an hour lunch time means 6 and half hour per day .we are asking 28 Saturday off that means 182 hours off in a year in lieu of that we have agreed to work 40 minutes extra daily and in a year banks remained open for 275 days that means we have agreed to work 183 hours so it is squared off and on top of that every officers works extra daily 2 to 3 hours means 550 hours to 800 hours extra unpaid hours every PSB officers give every year to bank .
Unfortunately nobody notices and appreciates it .
Banks are running paid campaigns against their own employees on social media and other publicity channels.
Never in the history of banking, strike got such publicity on government expenses. 😅
Initially banks were having half day in all Saturday's.
We accepted odd working and even off.
Which means same working hours and infact more in month of 5 Saturday's.
Now we are asking 2 more for which 40min daily time will be increased.
So working hours are same.
Jin customers ko balance ke message kabhi nahi milte wo bhi aaj UFBU ka message padhke aaye honge banks.
Jab ye message jaa sakta hai customer pe to balance ka kyun nahi jaata?
@akshitaa98 Nationalized banks don't want more holidays, but want for entire Banking Sector as per Global Standard. Already agreed by Banks, Pending for Govt notification.
Meanwhile, they'll be working 40 minutes extra everyday which be convenient for Customers too.
We are a country that doesn't believe in actual work, we believe in hours of work
Almost all the banking work is done online in Tier 1-2 cities. I don't even remember when was the last time I visited a Bank.
Ideally Bank staff shouldn't be under any work pressure but the problem is Banks are giving them targets to sell their products, loans or cards etc. And that is creating a lot of pressure on Bank employees.
Reduce banks in Tier 1-2 cities, add new banks in Villages and educate people to use online services. Sell your products online with the help of new technologies. There is no need to pressure Bank employees to work so much.
