@MaxE2review Now also take it further to 2nd order effects.. confidence in institutions that resulted from this and also hiring pipeline to who actually works in media and NGOs coming from these same institutions creating a basic loop
Reminds me of a good Stalin quote: "Life has become better, comrades. Life has become more joyful." -- November 17, 1935, First All-Union Conference of Stakhanovites in Moscow
(«Жить стало лучше, товарищи. Жить стало веселее!»)
Mamdani: Today, I am proud to announce a collection of essential staples that will be predictably 30% cheaper at all five of our city-run grocery stores. This core set of goods will include all fresh produce, meat, and seafood, along with 20 other essential items like cheese, milk, and bread.
Here's how it will work. Once a month, our five city-run grocery stores will set prices for this core set of goods at 30% below typical retail prices. No exceptions, no gimmicks. The savings will last for the entire month. That means no weekly fluctuations or sticker shock at the checkout line—not for our seniors living on fixed incomes, nor for the parents who rely on a regular supply of apple slices to keep toddler tantrums at bay.
@HomerPavlos Hello HP, I need to write you a message about a point which no one has picked up yet. I am amazed.. no one has picked up on the original wedding details. Please follow so I can write direct and explain.
@MaxE2review Had a very similar thought. You take an idea that most people understand and then academically redefine it into checklists and parameters until it doesn’t mean that much at all. But most don’t understand the difference.
@AravSrinivas do the documents sync / get updated regularly once connected? (on my side the documents in Google Drive are frequently updated with content)
The @theallinpod (one of the most watched podcasts on Earth) spoke about the direct-to-device technology in their episode today. Yet they only associated it with Starlink without mentioning AST SpaceMobile $ASTS who is the absolute market innovator in the space.
@friedberg: “If you can get satellite to phone, Starlink can be a 100 million subscriber business. It could be one of the biggest businesses on Earth.”
@Jason: “It can be the largest subscription business in humanity. It could be 100s of millions of subscribers — bigger than Netflix and Verizon — can be the first 500 million subscriber in the world.”
Friedberg: “We could look back one day and be like why did we all this copper wire everywhere. We don’t need it.”

While it’s amazing that both acknowledge the size and potential of this industry (which AST CEO Abel Avellan has been screaming from the top of his lungs about since 2017), it’s disappointing for a podcast this size to not mention AST once. Perhaps they don’t know that the Verizon they mentioned is actually partnered with AST along with AT&T and supported by the the biggest telcos globally like Vodafone, Telefonica, Orange, America Movil and 40+ more, along with industry giants like Google, Nokia, American Tower, and more. Perhaps they don’t know.
However, it does validate the direct-to-device thesis and massive potential which I’m fully aligned with while many others continue to not see and still doubt
It’s also worth mentioning that multiple individuals on the podcast like @chamath , @DavidSacks, and Jason are SpaceX shareholders.
