@ilyamiskov It’s the difference between imperative control vs declarative control. Broad strokes vs fine details.
Shorter the attention the more declarative control , and vice versa .
@davidbooth Interesting read, I believe as designers we would need to embed the “social mechanics “ in the AI . Even though AI does all the “tasks” , AI can have synth “etiquettes “ … just a thought
@davidbooth No of "unique customer agents" subscribed would be the new metric to watch for.
VCs be like " Your AI looks good , but how many UCA subscriptions you have ? "
@paulg Some how this reminds me of mass effect 3 @masseffect multiple endings 😬,
1. Humans set man made rate limits to it
2. Humans completely get out of the way
3. Humans merge with it to make human++
@eshear I find the relationship between “word” and “meaning” really interesting. It’s like the first thing you do to give meaning to a concept is to give it a “word” identity
When sharing photos got easy, beauty became the moat.
When publishing thoughts got easy, being contrarian became the moat.
When building products gets easy, focus becomes the moat.
Prompting is free. Attention is expensive.
We’re excited to share that @nuance_ai has raised a $50M Series A led by @lightspeedvp, joined by @Accel, @spc, @nvidia, and @definevc!
Much of human communication happens beyond words. Before we can speak, we learn to read faces, return smiles, follow gestures, and sense when someone is listening. That visual and emotional vocabulary stays with us for life.
At Nuance Labs, we’re building a foundation model that understands and responds to the full spectrum of human emotion. A single full-duplex audio-visual model that sees, listens, and responds in real time, with the natural give-and-take of a conversation with a friend or colleague.
We believe the best interface with a machine is the one we’ve practiced since birth.

@tfadell I feel the destination you talk about is "vision" you have for your own career. This "vision" ideally should be unwavering but path to it should be flexible. BUT, awareness to shape "Vision" itself requires you to "play around" with other's vision to invent one of your own
@naval Back then we thought what could a computer do ? then it was , what you can do with computer? Previously it was what AI could do ? now its what you can do with AI ? had a similar thought two years back : https://t.co/EkuQJYvyFg . .
There was a time , when being a computer was a job title , like a being a doctor. But now it's a device. Wonder if same thing will happen to engineer ? Like in future we will have engineer on our desk and pockets
With AI now , more and more productivity software will evolve into simulation software , and end users will be like RTS gamers, strategizing the macro and micro of business plan instead of entering text and numbers in spreadsheets.
@naval Network effects of Truth are like blockchain , new truth has to accommodate all the truths before it . Lies have high binding energy to desires. Lies spread the fastest in a network linked with human desires . Fewer Desires , fewer lies.
Exploring pressure as a design variable.

@stephsmithio The conflict comes when you value an employee’s effort by the hours they put in not by the value they generate. As @paulg stated it is extremely hard to determine the value contribution of a single employee in a big organization.
