We are deeply alarmed by the disturbing reports of #HussamAbuSafiya being subjected to continued beatings, deliberate sleep deprivation, and threats against divulging his detention conditions while in Israeli custody.
Israeli authorities must immediately and unconditionally release Dr. Abu Safiya and all Palestinians arbitrary detained. Pending Dr. Hussam’s release, the Israeli Prison Service must ensure he is fully protected from abuse, granted urgent adequate and independent medical care and allowed immediate visitation by independent monitors.

My statement on Israel's decision to ban me and 10 other British MPs from entry.
"I have visited all parts of Palestine on several occasions, where I have witnessed the horrors of occupation, as well as the resilience and humanity of the Palestinian people.
They are the ones who suffer from Israel's apartheid. It is their freedom which is egregiously curtailed, alongside thousands of Palestinian refugees who are denied the right of return.
As the world wakes up to the genocide in Gaza, it is shocking that Israel continues to deny entry to UN investigators and international journalists. Israel doesn't want the world to see what it is doing - but we can never give up in our attempts to expose the truth.
That is the real scandal. Israel’s genocide cannot go unpunished - and I will keep speaking up for peace, freedom and justice for the Palestinian people."
Why do western governments:
- partner with Israel against Intl Law/despite widespread public opposition?
- restrict criticism of Israel despite its crimes?
- repress citizens protesting those crimes?
They seem able to afford ignoring their people.
Quite illiberal for democracies.
I won’t lose any sleep over being condemned by Israel.
What I deplore is its despicable treatment of the Palestinian people — and I will never stop speaking out against the occupation.
My piece for @MetroUK on Israel’s decision to ban me from entry.

I welcome the stance taken by the UK government on Israel’s occupation and its illegality. A much-needed beginning, even if it does not yet reverse all policies undermining Palestinian self-determination.
May the UK government and people hold firm. The pressure will be fierce.
This week, my Gaza (Public Inquiry) Bill returns to Parliament. This Bill would establish a full investigation into Britain’s complicity in genocide.
The last Prime Minister blocked our efforts to uncover the truth. Will the new Prime Minister do the same?

Israel’s shameless use of land seizure orders to dispossess Palestinians and accelerate the annexation of the occupied Palestinian territory must be stopped immediately. https://t.co/ZPuz05uzNh
🚨 Over 55 000 people signed our petition to Andy Burnham demanding meaningful sanctions on Israel. Today we handed it in with @BritPalCommitt Read about our demands here: https://t.co/BengyVmD1w
Five months ago, before a room full of ambassadors and diplomats, I denounced unspeakable acts of torture against Palestinians in Israeli jails.
Nothing changed. If not for the worst.
Israel is blatantly demolishing peoples' homes in Lebanon, and the world is silent. I'm really struggling to understand how and when this became acceptable

Brazilian Pres. Lula: "It's an army killing women and children... and then they come and say it's 'antisemitism'?"
The victim mentality must end.
"We understand this: What is happening in Gaza is genocide."

Israeli snipers kill a Palestinian mother and her young boy. And then they shoot anyone who tries to help them or retrieve their bodies.
Because "self-defense" of course.
In other news Finland quietly extended their bilateral defense agreement with Israel for another 10 years.
