Early on when the DAT narrative started I thought this would be this cycles ponzi, similar to things like Luna/Anchor last cycle.
I figured it'd get crazy, we'd see it start with majors and then it'd all blow up at the end with some company creating like a Fartcoin DAT.
Pathetic that this shit couldn't even make it past ETH.
@annak_crypto Yeah tradfi/banking obscurity and cronyism is what pushed me into crypto! I don’t love tradfi involvement in our space but I think rwa tokenisation is overall +ev regardless of who’s driving it. Thankfully there’s some good teams in that area too 🙏🏼
Since I joined @SolanaFndn our leadership has always preached that our job is to become less important overtime. And for many of us, our individual job is to do such a good job of empowering the ecosystem that it puts ourselves out of a job. Ofc some roles will take longer than other, and others may exist forever. But in the next 5 to 10 years the probability of @SolanaFndn greatly reducing it's headcount is very high.
From my own perspective, when I look at how hands on we were in the developer ecosystem in the early days and where we are now I can see that path clearly. Open source code is being produced, content is being written, groups like @SuperteamDAO, @LamportDAO, @drip_haus, @SolfateHQ, @AthensDao, @deanslistDAO, @HeavyDutyBuild, @SolanaUni, @SolanaAllstars, @ChristexFndn are growing their communities and contributing more and more every single day.
Beyond those groups, there are plenty of individual contributors doing their own independent work to improve the ecosystem.
And we have an incredible group of educators onboarding developers and building their own communities on a regular basis such as @ComeBuidlwithUs, @riseinweb3, @AckeeBlockchain, @patika_dev / @riseinweb3, @RareSkills_io, @icareerbooster, @encodeclub, @easya_app and Mr. Solana Course himself, @jamesrp13 with @unboxedsoftware.
Fully owned and operated community events like @mtndao, @SolanaCrossroad and @IslandDAOx (soon) are also breeding a new generation of decentralized events.
Ethereum figured out the model that relies little on the Ethereum Foundation outside of grants. The community does the work, builds the things, hosts the events and this is the way it should be.
TL;DR
Keep doing what you're doing and put us out of a job and we will have succeeded in one of the most important missions we have. It's not just about a decentralized blockchain, its about a decentralized community of communities. Varying in sizes, but combined, they dwarf the Solana Foundation.

The reality is that there is no net new money coming into crypto at the moment
- Retail is rekt and normies mostly think crypto is a scam
- Funds are largely rekt and capital inflow has significantly slowed down
- Institutions are largely on the sidelines waiting for regulatory clarity
It’s pure PvP for traders (memecoins) and most projects are in survival mode, with those who didn’t build a good diversified treasury during the bull now struggling
It seems like to me, institutions are most likely to be next wave of capital to enter the crypto economy
The SEC has been hits with L’s lately on the Ripple (token not a security) and Grayscale (closer to BTC spot ETF) cases
Other non-US regions like the EU/UK/Hong Kong are driving towards greater regulatory clarity (good for tokenized assets)
Institutions have been repeatedly signaling the benefits they would reap from tokenized assets and the market opportunity it presents
Thus right now, it’s all about building useful infrastructure and applications so when the institutional catalyst happens (and thus the ensuing retail wave), your protocol is well positioned to benefit from and power this cycle
Until then, pick up some non-crypto hobbies so you don’t go insane from the time capitulation
@dcinvestor Ghost of Tsushima a masterpiece. Also loved Cyberpunk after the rerelease - completely different game and worth a try if you haven’t already
This FTX/Binance clown show is partly done to distract plebs from the fact that none of their balance sheets are public. For an industry that prides itself on transparency, it is pretty bad that some of its largest banks can’t even provide consolidated financials to the public.
