eBooks covering the Space Shuttle, ISS & Russian/Chinese Space. A great source for Astronaut news with 45 years experience as a Space Historian & Journalist.
Arrived today. My 5xGrandfather's British Naval Rocket Brigade patch. Flown in Space during @PolarisProgram's #PolarisDawn Sept. 10-15, 2024 to over 1,400 km & 75 orbits. Exposed to open Space during the World's first non-govt EVA. Thank you @rookisaacman & Casey Phillips!
Although they dont say it out loud, this is video of @Astro_Jessica & @astro_anil inspecting the leaking Russian Zvezda aft transfer compartment just a month before the Russians sealed off the compartment permanently.

Pasadena, California here we come!
I am thrilled to join @Caltech and @NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory as they continue their legacy into the next 90 years of deep space exploration... The stars are calling and WE MUST GO!
Today our team lifted and installed New Glenn's second stage (GS2) at @NASAStennis. The vehicle was tandem lifted from its cradle using the Main Derrick Crane at the historic B-2 Test Stand to lift the forward end, while a mobile tailing crane simultaneously lifted the aft end. GS2 was shifted to a vertical orientation, lifted 218 feet above ground, and lowered into the B-2 test position. A great example of what Team Blue and our NASA partners can accomplish together. Final preparations for our first hotfire test are ongoing.
Two astronauts are go for Thursday’s spacewalk to install a new roll-out solar array on the International Space Station. Live @NASA+ coverage begins at 6:30 a.m. EDT. More... https://t.co/HXR4AM3daY
@lakelandlake@Astro_Jessica@astro_anil Yepp and thats a very rare event where the Russians allow NASA to inspect their station modules. This inspection most likely led to NASA demanding the compartment be sealed off for safety concerns.

Cosmonauts Anna Kikina and Pyotr Dubrov unpack & install the control exoskeleton for the Teledroid experiment, a robot that could allow cosmonauts in the future to do some tasks outside without conducting EVAs.
The robot itself should arrive with the next Progress MS-36 mission.
.@NASAAdmin Jared Isaacman on Artemis III crew visit to the White House: "Not only did the president wanna meet the Artemis III group, we had an opportunity to present to him the largest moon rock we ever brought back from the Apollo era."
Happy 140th birthday, Lady Liberty!
Dedicated on 28 Oct 1886, the Statue of Liberty stands 305 feet tall and symbolizes freedom, hope, and opportunity.
She's also a favorite measuring stick for rockets!
Without her, how would we know how tall our rockets are?

There will be one Pakistani astronaut on the Shenzhou-24 crew.
Is anyone else expecting Pakistan to leak the selected astronaut before China's official announcement, usually just the day before launch?
🕯️Remembering Steve Nagel, b. OTD 10/27/1946: Steve was already in the office when I arrived & was always so friendly and helpful -- a great source of thoughtful advice but never pushy. He was one of my favorite folks to fly with in the T-38 -- I always learned so much from him!
