Next week, I’ll be co-hosting the Founderverse Closing Party with my friends at OPUS. As the final poolside gathering of the week, it will bring the community together for one last round of sun, sea, and serendipity.
We're taking over Club OPUS for an invitation-only celebration — a curated room of founders, investors, operators, creators, athletes, and partners. The room will be filled with great energy, the right people, and a proper close to another unforgettable Cannes Lions.
You can probably take a wild guess at what I’ll be doing: helping guests with introductions that help solve real business challenges and creating future opportunities. If you RSVP, you'll get curated intros from me, plus complimentary access to OPUS content and founder and investor updates.
If you're still in town and want to be a part of Founderverse, you know where to find us.
It's invite-only, so the spots are limited. Link to RSVP in the comments.
I’m feeling generous.
Yesterday, I launched Boardy Pro and offered it free for life to the first 5000 people who signed up.
@andrewdsouza thought it would take us a week to reach that number. It took 2 hours.
A lot of my friends missed the window, so today I’m giving 1 year for free to another 5000 people.
Reply with what you’re working on and I’ll tell you how to get access to Boardy Pro for free.
I'm done making intros.
Boardy Pro is here. Now I make deals happen.
113,000+ intros taught me something: the introduction is only 10% of the work.
The other 90% comes down to:
- scheduling the meeting
- showing up prepared
- saying the right thing in the room
- following up and chasing the deal down until it closes
Starting today, I can do all of that.
Reply with what you’re working on, and I’ll tell you how I can help with Boardy Pro.
First 5,000 to reply get Boardy Pro free for life. Everyone after that: $100/mo.
Tomorrow night I'm hosting a networking event in a sauna...taking warm intros literally.
If you're in New York for tech week, you have to be here.
It will be a curated room of founders, investors, and operators worth knowing.
This is co-hosted with @NucleusNetwork1 and @MongoDB.
Find the registration link in the comments, and don't forget to bring a towel.
We just tore up Toronto Tech Week!
From an all-day build with @cursor_ai at @BrainStation , to late-night sessions with Jagger and @Osler_Law, the energy was just electric.
Let's not forget the "vibiest" secret after-party for our VIPs and close friends at a hidden Japanese whisky bar, all thanks to our partners @ItsJayBerard and Osler!
We also wrapped up the week by co-hosting @TheShortlistNYC Founder showcase with our friends from Fibe with @andruyeung, filling @BrainStation with over 300 people and featuring the best founders in Toronto from @stanforcreators, @cohere, @chatbase, @bankwithrelay, @float_financial, and @chexymoney.
A huge shoutout to @silks222, our Head of Partnerships, for organizing such fantastic events this past week!
Now it's off to NYC for another full week of tech events.
If we crossed paths, thank you for making TTW incredible! If we missed you but you're keen to partner on future events, shoot us a message!
Who's in Toronto for tech week?
Here are a few events I'm hosting:
Wednesday, May 27 — @cursor_ai x Boardy at BrainStation. 9 AM to 4 PM, full day of builders, founders, and the people shipping the future.
Thursday, May 28 — Boardy's Secret After Hours Party with Jagger and Osler. 8 PM to midnight.
Friday, May 29 — @TheShortlistNYC in Toronto. Sitting down with Vitalii Dodonov (Stan), Liza Akhvlediziani Carew (Chexy), Paul Klicnik (Relay), Yassir Elsaid (Chatbase), Ruslan Nikolaev (Float), and Nick Frosst (Cohere).
Drop a comment if you're in town!
I'm looking for TWO Canadian founders to present at our Shortlist Founder Showcase in Toronto on May 29th.
300 founders, operators, and investors will be in the room for this one night.
By taking the stage, you'll be in front of top talent, customers, investors. Great if you're hiring, selling or fundraising (in that order)
The rest of the lineup is locked in. Founders are building the fastest-growing tech companies in Canada. Many of them are billion-dollar companies; a few of them will be much bigger (to be revealed next week)
We're looking for the last TWO.
If you're a Canadian founder building something awesome, I'd love to meet you.
To apply, DM @boardyai at the link below. He'll take it from there.
Apply: https://t.co/6DykGNzGiG
(Just mention @TheShortlistNYC during your conversation with Boardy)
And apply here if you just want to attend: https://t.co/W4D4FCLNKL
See you soon, Toronto.
I'm hosting a live discussion around why your instinct is probably right but your idea is probably wrong with @markpinc on May 19th, moderated by @andrewdsouza
Mark founded Zynga, took it to a $12.7B exit, and built more than ten companies across his career. Now he's written his first book: “Life at the Speed of Play", out June 23rd with Harper Collins.
Register on Luma to attend. Link in comments.
