We often hear repeated discussions about “protecting minorities,” but this narrative has become outdated and no longer reflects the reality in Syria.
Christians in Syria have historically lived in safety and relative comfort, and even throughout the war they were not the ones who paid the heaviest price. The conflict was directed mainly against the Sunni majority, and the suffering , detentions, killings, and displacement , has overwhelmingly affected Sunnis.

Therefore, we hope that when you speak about Syria, you address all Syrians equally, without favoring one group over another. The use of the “minorities card” should come to an end, as the majority also deserves recognition, justice, and representation. History proves that Syria prospered during times of fair Sunni leadership, and this should not be ignored in discussions about its future. and history itself shows how prosperity existed under Sunni rule.

This video shows just one neighborhood of the Sunni community in Damascus. Imagine then the rest of Syria’s provinces, where these areas are inhabited only by Sunni Muslims, the majority. And this is what has been done by the very minorities you always defend.
