Today in @NEJM we show that cefazolin should be the preferred agent for MSSA bacteremia

We also show in @TheLancet that penicillin should be preferred to anti-staphyloccal penicilins for PSSA

More and more metrics are being added to the @UKHSA data dashboard. So I’ve written `UKHSAdashR` to easily download this data into #R. Based on `ukcovid19` package released by PHE previously.

@BradSpellberg@IDiots_pod Totally agree with it being a clinician problem for PCT. But given it’s creep into order sets I worry people now see it as a panacea for excluding bacterial infection in all sorts of things that it lacks evidence for especially its inability to predict bacteraemia

Okay @radiokeller, you asked for a combo Abx therapy rant, so here it comes (I guess Im taking requests now! ;)).
There are 3 philosophical reasons to use combination Abx therapy (see my Mandell chapter for this discussion in detail). But they all apply differently to difft dzs.
Taken the plunge and learnt to write #R packages. Rewritten this script as a package {antibiogantt}
Still needs work especially on documentation

ONE ANTIBIOTIC PK TABLE TO RULE THEM ALL
Absorption takes drug into blood from GI,
Vd spreads drug out to where bug calls home.
And after bacteria are doomed to die,
They’re mostly eliminated on the porcelain throne
In the Land of Notion where this table doth lie.
