While Chief Minister @BhagwantMann was in Bathinda, the Improvement Trust premises were effectively turned into a detention centre, with protesting teachers confined and prevented from raising their voices.

In September 2022, the government claimed to have accepted the demands of Computer Teachers and even publicised it as a “Diwali gift.” Nearly four years and four Diwalis later, those promises remain unfulfilled.

Today, instead of addressing their concerns, these teachers are being detained so they cannot question the Chief Minister.

Punjab Government Must Accept the Legitimate Demands of Computer Teachers Punjab

June 13,2026-The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) expresses its strong support for the ongoing struggle of Computer Teachers Punjab and urges the Punjab Government to immediately address and accept their long-pending and legitimate demands.

Computer teachers have been serving Punjab's education system for nearly two decades, playing a crucial role in promoting digital literacy and technological education among lakhs of students across the state. Despite their invaluable contribution, they continue to face uncertainty regarding service conditions, pay scales, and other employment benefits.

NAPA believes that no education system can flourish unless its teachers are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. The demands raised by Computer Teachers Punjab—including merger into the Education Department, implementation of the 6th Pay Commission recommendations, extension of Punjab Civil Services benefits, and adequate support for families of deceased employees—deserve immediate and serious consideration by the government.

Successive governments have made promises to these teachers, yet many issues remain unresolved. Such prolonged delays not only affect the morale of educators but also undermine the state's commitment to strengthening public education and digital empowerment.

The Punjab Government must engage in meaningful dialogue with representatives of Computer Teachers Punjab and announce a clear, time-bound roadmap for resolving their grievances. A government that prioritizes education must also prioritize the welfare and security of its educators.

Teachers are the backbone of any society. Punjab's vision of becoming a leader in education and technology cannot be achieved while those responsible for imparting digital knowledge continue to struggle for their rightful dues.

पंजाब के बच्चों के भविष्य को डिजिटल उड़ान देने वाले हम कंप्यूटर शिक्षक आज अपने ही अंधकारमय भविष्य और टूटे हुए वादों की गहरी पीड़ा सहने को मजबूर 2022 के चुनावों के दौरान किए गए बड़े-बड़े वादों और 'बदलाव' की उम्मीद ने हमें यह भरोसा दिलाया था कि हमारी नौकरियां सुरक्षित होंगी और सालों से लटकी मांगें अंततः पूरी होंगी, लेकिन सत्ता में आने के बाद वे 'गारंटियां' केवल सरकारी फाइलों में दबकर 'धोखे' में बदल गईं और आज हम सड़कों पर धक्के खाने को विवश हैं। आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) पंजाब के लिए हमारा यह सीधा संदेश है: भगवंत मान जी और अरविंद केजरीवाल जी, क्या यही आपका बहुचर्चित बदलाव और गारंटियों की राजनीति थी? एक शिक्षक का सड़कों पर न्याय के लिए भीख मांगना पूरे राज्य के लिए शर्मिंदगी का विषय है; कृपया हमारे सब्र का और इम्तिहान न लें, फाइलों में दबे वादों को हकीकत में बदलें और पंजाब के कंप्यूटर शिक्षकों को उनका वह वाजिब हक़ और सम्मान दें जिसके वे असल हक़दार हैं, क्योंकि हमारा यह संघर्ष तब तक जारी रहेगा जब तक हमें न्याय नहीं मिल जाता।

कंप्यूटर टीचर यूनियन पंजाब की ओर से, हम पटियाला में विरोध प्रदर्शन के दौरान PSPCL लाइनमैनों के प्रति पंजाब पुलिस के कथित क्रूर व्यवहार को लेकर अपनी गहरी चिंता और पीड़ा व्यक्त करते हैं। इस घटना से सामने आ रही तस्वीरों और रिपोर्टों ने उन सरकारी कर्मचारियों और श्रमिकों के साथ होने वाले व्यवहार पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं, जो शांतिपूर्वक अपनी शिकायतें व्यक्त करने के अपने लोकतांत्रिक अधिकार का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं।
पंजाब का लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों, श्रमिक अधिकारों और नागरिक स्वतंत्रता का सम्मान करने का एक गौरवशाली इतिहास रहा है। पंजाब के लोगों की सेवा कर रहे कर्मचारियों के खिलाफ बल का कोई भी अत्यधिक प्रयोग जनता के विश्वास को ठेस पहुंचाता है और सहयोग के बजाय भय का माहौल पैदा करता है। सरकारी कर्मचारी सार्वजनिक सेवा वितरण की रीढ़ हैं, और उनकी चिंताएँ टकराव के बजाय संवाद और सम्मान की हकदार हैं।
हम पंजाब सरकार और आम आदमी पार्टी के नेतृत्व से सम्मानपूर्वक अपील करते हैं कि वे शांतिपूर्ण विरोध प्रदर्शनों और सार्वजनिक सभाओं से निपटने के दौरान पंजाब पुलिस को अधिक पेशेवर, जवाबदेह, नागरिक-अनुकूल और संवेदनशील बनाने के उद्देश्य से सार्थक सुधार शुरू करें। मानवाधिकारों, भीड़ प्रबंधन, विवाद समाधान और जनसंपर्क में नियमित प्रशिक्षण को प्राथमिकता दी जानी चाहिए ताकि भविष्य में ऐसी घटनाओं की पुनरावृत्ति न हो।
जैसे-जैसे पंजाब 2027 के विधानसभा चुनावों की ओर बढ़ रहा है, हमारा मानना है कि सरकार को कर्मचारियों, श्रमिकों, किसानों, युवाओं और समाज के अन्य वर्गों के साथ अपने संबंधों को मजबूत करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करना चाहिए। बल प्रयोग की तुलना में वास्तविक चिंताओं को सुनना, निष्पक्ष व्यवहार सुनिश्चित करना और पारदर्शी शासन को बढ़ावा देना, जनता का विश्वास हासिल करने में कहीं अधिक प्रभावी होगा। पंजाब के लोग एक ऐसी सरकार की उम्मीद करते हैं जो संवाद करे, असहमति का सम्मान करे और लोकतांत्रिक सिद्धांतों को कायम रखे।
कंप्यूटर टीचर यूनियन पंजाब को पूरी उम्मीद है कि आम आदमी पार्टी का नेतृत्व इस मामले को गंभीरता से लेगा, घटना की निष्पक्ष समीक्षा करेगा और ऐसे उपाय अपनाएगा जो सरकार और कानून प्रवर्तन संस्थानों (पुलिस) दोनों में जनता के विश्वास को मजबूत करें।

एक दर्दनाक अपील: हमारे घरों में रोशनी करने वालों पर लाठियों की बौछार
आज पंजाब के बिजली कर्मचारियों पर पुलिस के लाठीचार्ज की तस्वीरों ने हर संवेदनशील इंसान का दिल तोड़ दिया है। यह घटना सिर्फ़ एक खबर नहीं है, बल्कि हमारे सिस्टम और इंसानियत के माथे पर एक गहरा वार है।

"जो हाथ तूफ़ान, भारी बारिश और कड़ाके की ठंड में हमारे घरों के बल्ब जलाने के लिए बिजली के नंगे तारों से खेलते हैं, आज उन्हीं हाथों पर बेरहमी से लाठियां बरसाई गई हैं।

क्या यह बिना थके सेवा की निशानी है
जब हम आराम से अपने घरों में बैठे होते हैं, तो ये कर्मचारी अपनी जान जोखिम में डालकर, ऊंचे खंभों पर चढ़कर हमारी सुविधा के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे होते हैं। जब वे अपने हक़ के लिए सड़कों पर उतरते हैं, तो क्या ये लाठियां इस सेवा का इनाम हैं?

*अपने हक़ की मांग करना कोई गुनाह नहीं है:
हर कर्मचारी को अपनी जायज़ मांगों के लिए शांति से आवाज़ उठाने का संवैधानिक हक़ है। डेमोक्रेसी में, किसी की आवाज़ को डंडे के ज़ोर पर दबाना किसी भी सभ्य समाज की निशानी नहीं हो सकती।
सरकार और एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन से सवाल:
मुद्दे हमेशा टेबल पर बैठकर और बातचीत से ही हल किए जा सकते हैं। अपने ही राज्य के मेहनती मज़दूरों के साथ दुश्मनों जैसा बर्ताव करना और उनके खून से सड़कें लाल करना कहाँ का इंसाफ़ है?

यह चुप रहने का समय नहीं है। एक समाज के तौर पर, यह हमारा फ़र्ज़ है कि हम अपने इन मज़दूर भाइयों का दर्द समझें। अगर हम आज उनके हक में "हा" का नारा नहीं लगाएंगे, तो कल यह ज़ुल्म किसी और आम आदमी के साथ भी हो सकता है।

आइए हम सब इस ज़ुल्म की कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करें और सरकार से अपील करें कि वह बिजली मज़दूरों की मांगों पर हमदर्दी से विचार करे। मसले लाठी से नहीं, बल्कि अपनेपन और मतलब की बातचीत से हल होने चाहिए।
हमारे बिजली मज़दूर हमारी शान हैं; उनका सम्मान होना चाहिए, उनका तिरस्कार नहीं।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭੈਣੋ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ, ਅੱਜ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣੀਏ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੱਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ, ਹੋਰ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ, ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ, ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ, ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਵਰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਝੂਠੇ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਵਾਅਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਬੇਰੁਖ਼ੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੀ ਅੱਜ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਬੋਰਡ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੜਕਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਰੈਲੀ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਨੇ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈ ਸਕਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਮਿਹਨਤਕਸ਼ ਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਸੜਕਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਰੁਲਣ ਲਈ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਦੀ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਵੀ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਓ ਇਕਜੁੱਟ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਧੋਖੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਕਰੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਦੇਣਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰੀਏ।

We write to you today not just with a demand, but with a heavy heart and folded hands. Over the years, **112 dedicated Computer Teachers of Punjab** have tragically passed away during their service. These were the very individuals who worked tirelessly to bridge the digital divide and shape the future of Punjab’s youth.
Today, behind that tragic number of "112" are grieving widows, helpless children, and aging parents who have lost their sole breadwinners. While these teachers gave their entire youth and energy to the Education Department, their families have been left in the dark, struggling for basic survival, dignity, and their rightful dues.
The Computer Teachers Union Punjab has been knocking on every door for a long time, pleading for justice. We earnestly urge you to look beyond bureaucratic files and view this tragedy through the lens of humanity.
These families desperately need your empathy. We request immediate intervention to provide them with their rightful financial support, pending dues, and compassionate appointments. They served our state with honor; it is now the state's moral duty to ensure their families do not suffer in poverty and despair.
Please wipe their tears. Give them the justice they deserve.

सर्विस / धोखा — एक दिल दहला देने वाली कहानी

15 साल की ईमानदार, समर्पित और चुपचाप सर्विस के बाद, जब पंजाब का एक कंप्यूटर टीचर रिटायर होता है, तो उसके पास न कोई happiness होती है, न सिक्योरिटी, सिर्फ़ खालीपन। न पेंशन, न ग्रेच्युटी, न ही वो बेसिक अधिकार जो एक सरकारी कर्मचारी की ज़िंदगी के आखिरी पड़ाव को सुरक्षित बनाते हैं। जिस अपॉइंटमेंट लेटर ने कभी उसे भरोसा दिलाया था कि उसकी सर्विस पंजाब सिविल सर्विसेज़ नियमों के तहत आएगी, वही कागज़ आज टूटे हुए वादे की याद दिला रहा है। यह सिर्फ़ कानूनी उल्लंघन नहीं है — यह भरोसे के साथ धोखा है।

यह कहानी सिर्फ़ एक टीचर की नहीं है, यह हर उस इंसान की आवाज़ है जिसने अपने सपने, अपनी जवानी और अपना समय सिस्टम को दिया है। जब सालों से स्टूडेंट्स का भविष्य बनाने वाला टीचर अपने ही भविष्य के लिए हाथ फैलाने को मजबूर हो जाए, तो यह समाज के लिए शर्म की बात है। “एक पैसा भी नहीं” — ये शब्द सिर्फ़ पैसे की तंगी नहीं दिखाते, ये टूटी हुई इंसानी इज़्ज़त की आवाज़ हैं।

यह सिर्फ़ एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन की गलती नहीं है, यह इंसानी भावनाओं की नाकामी है। जब एक टीचर अपनी ज़िंदगी के सबसे अच्छे साल क्लासरूम में बिताता है, तो रिटायरमेंट पर उसे सिक्योरिटी नहीं, बल्कि इग्नोरेंस मिलती है — यह एक तरह की साइलेंट पनिशमेंट जैसा है। यह उसकी मेहनत का मज़ाक है, उसके भरोसे का अंत है।

जो स्टेट “मॉडल” माना जाता था, वह आज अपने ही एम्प्लॉई का भरोसा तोड़ रहा है। यह हालत सिर्फ़ एक इंसान की नहीं है, यह पूरे सिस्टम पर एक काला धब्बा है। जब वादे सिर्फ़ कागज़ों तक सीमित रह जाते हैं और असलियत में टूट जाते हैं, तो यह साबित होता है कि सिस्टम को सिर्फ़ काम चाहिए — लोग नहीं।

ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸਘਾਤ — ਇੱਕ ਦਿਲ ਤੋੜ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ

15 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪੂਰੀ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ, ਲਗਨ ਤੇ ਚੁੱਪਚਾਪ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਖਾਲੀਪਣ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੈਨਸ਼ਨ, ਨਾ ਗ੍ਰੈਚੁਟੀ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਮੁੱਢਲੇ ਹੱਕ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਆਖਰੀ ਪੜਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਿਵਲ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਆਵੇਗੀ, ਉਹੀ ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਕ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ — ਇਹ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ ਉਸ ਹਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ, ਆਪਣੀ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਜਦੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਹੱਥ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ‘ਤੇ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਮਾਜ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ। “ਇੱਕ ਪੈਸਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ” — ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਘਾਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਦੇ, ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਨੂੰ ਟੁੱਟਣ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹਨ।

ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਹਿਸਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਾਕਾਮੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸਾਲ ਕਲਾਸਰੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਤਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤੀ ‘ਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਅਣਦੇਖੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ — ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦਾ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਹੈ, ਉਸਦੇ ਯਕੀਨ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਹੈ।

ਰਾਜ, ਜੋ ਇੱਕ “ਮਾਡਲ ” ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ, ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਹਾਲਤ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਿਸਟਮ ‘ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਲਾ ਦਾਗ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਕਾਗਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਸੀਮਿਤ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕੰਮ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ — ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ।
