@AnnCope16@David__Osland If you die without a will, but you have family, it DOES to to family.
However I fully agree that if there is no family to inherit, then the estate should go to charity.
@HHepplewhite@GBNEWS And I wanna point out here that whilst I got £500, I pay £360 a month in tax - I've already paid it back.
Pick a lane - do you want disabled people to be able to work or do you want disabled people stuck at home on benefits?
@HHepplewhite@GBNEWS Because it isn't happening.
I have adhd, and I claimed for a standing desk and a couple of other adaptations for my work space.
I got £500 which did not cover the cost of everything and I had to top it up out of my own money.
But its helped me be able to work and keep my job.
@Nick_Wellings It's so offensive, I've got adhd and I applied for the help to work scheme, I got just under £500 which did not cover the cost of the adaptations I needed and was topped with my own money.
They don't want us on benefits but they clearly don't want us at work either.
@DebandezScott This headline is so misleading, the help to work scheme paid for a standing desk and a walking pad, it doesn't give you free money, it's to pay for reasonable adjustments to help you remain in work.
@JamesTimmins Not really no.
Like i remember things like prescriptions because I set reminders in a calendar app.
Modern technology has made it very easy for me to manage my adhd, mostly because I don't have to stress about forgetting things, I know I'll forget so I make sure I remind myself
@Claire_Edberg@SkyNews I mean, is that not the point? we don't get snow often, we aren't used it.
The countries that get snow more often can get on with it because they're used to it, and there's proper infrastructure allowing them to deal with it.
@Derinda123@TonyClimate It doesn't matter whether there's benefits paid out for adhd or not, I'll still have adhd.
And it wouldn't impact me in the slightest if benefits for adhd were stopped because I don't claim benefits anyway 🤦♀
@WareElephant@thefempire50@Jenny_1884 And like, there's a reason for that. Work takes it out of me worse than most people. I ended up in hospital trying to do everything.
So I outsource what I can so I can work instead of festering on benefits
Kicker is - I now have extra costs I didn't have before.
@WareElephant@thefempire50@Jenny_1884 I have adhd and I work so I don't claim benefits - but here's some examples of things that make my cost of living higher.
-cleaner
-having my clothes washed
-public transport - I don't have a free bus pass
-prescriptions - I don't have free prescriptions either.
@mac_danny29725@clairemcilvenna Actually no. I couldn't get to the job centre to keep claiming benefits.
That's literally the whole reason I ended up on disability benefits.
Because I was not fit to work nor look for work.
I was seriously unwell.
Obviously I'm better now and working. But there you go.
@DavidBelle_ @risk_respector Yeah that's a pretty universal thing with adhd.
If I really had to describe the experience of having adhd, it's mostly inconvenient.
But I don't view it as inherently good or bad, it just is.
@Inevitablewest I grew up in her constituency and gods honest truth, they'd vote for an actual pile of dog shit provided it had a red rosette on it.
Reform have got no chance 😂
@beth78321@GoodwinMJ Work does not cure adhd.
If it did, I wouldn't have adhd.
I'm just lucky in that I work a role where adhd plays to my strength not my detriment
@MissyFitLondon@RoryStewartUK I bet the number of people who don't want to work is a lot higher than 9.2 billion.
I don't know anyone who wants to work - I certainly don't. And if didn't have to work, I wouldn't.
And like my adhd is nothing to do with it. I could quit and claim benefits - I choose to work.
