Bihar election results - quick take

1. The NDA in its current shape is demographically head and shoulder above MGB. With no credible alternative, caste was going to be the primary factor and nda had a decisive edge there.
2. Tejashwi as the alternative ensured that it was possible for the bjp to drive the jungle Raj 2.0 narrative successfully. Why? Because people of Bihar have actually seen how Tejashwi and father ran things when they were in government with Nitish. Although, the bjp couldn’t openly point this out, as Nitish was the cm and part of those governments, Jungle Raj 2.0 served as a good enough decoy to remind people that Tejaswi :: Laloo
3. Jungle Raj had come to mean lawlessness for many, but it specifically is a decoy for MY domination for non Y OBCs and EBCs, and horror days for women. These cohorts consolidated massively for the nda.
4. Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra through the Muslim heavy regions, and his narrative around caste gaslighting, ensured that both Cong and rjd lost whatever UC base the had while ensuring a good chunk of UCs disaffected with nda to consolidate for it so as to prevent this bunch.
5. Last but one of the key reasons is that there is a Guilt voting that’s happening to the PM. It is a significant explainer in the election results in BR and DL as well.
6. Those who were regularly polling the state would know that 10,000 wasn’t a big factor in Bihar as it was in MH. This directionality was evident from August onwards. Driven largely by heavy women preference for Modi and Nitish and their determination to keep MGB out. 10,000 INR PROBABLY ADDED NOT MORE THAN 20 seats.
