@imrayjohnston Have been running several MMM models and looking at the impact of PMAX vs Smart Shopping.
Smart Shopping brings way more incremental orders and has a lower cost per order, vs PMAX.
@BarbarosOzturk On the other hand, it can also be utilized for cross-validation. As in: we upload conversions back into FB, through CAPI.
So if the user has recently purchased AND self claims (I already own this), it would validate it's own model.
This is a very, very impactful decision: I interpret this as meaning that Meta must receive explicit consent from users to personalize ads using *first-party* data. This will fundamentally alter the company's operating model in the EU. https://t.co/AtPfuxleCt
@BarbarosOzturk Another thought: if the FB Pixel did capture you recently on the 'checkout process' , but did not capture the purchase process.. well, it might make an assumption you bought it.
@BarbarosOzturk Not sure if it can/will be used for conversion tracking.
As in: It might actually help by optimizing further the ads. If FB Serves me an ad for a 'ski roof box' , i could flag: I Already own.. and FB could somewhat understand not to serve me an ad for ski roof box.
@nickdblake@Thomasbcn@Minted@niko_jaimes@jeromep1970 Depends on region and advertisers. As in, here in South East Asia we basically have DV360, TTD, Amobee. Amazon DSP not here yet, and MediaMath / Xandr very very small (if existing at all)
I'm on the early access list for Sunrise KPI (by @casjam), a simple tool to keep you updated on all your key metrics.
