Dainik Bhaskar journalist went undercover as a laborer in a flour mill in UP and exposed a rotten system that's playing with people's health.
Operators in mills across Agra, Firozabad are mixing stone powder from Rajasthan into atta, increasing their earnings by 70–80 paise per kg i.e. 7k-8k extra per day. These adulterated flour, sold under brands like Maharaja Bhog Atta, is even reaching school mid-day meals. These calcium carbonate can clog intestines and damage the liver and kidneys.
Being in the D2C industry, I'm aware of many brands who do these kinds of things just to save margins and make more money. We keep calling them out, but this looks much bigger.
Government and FSSAI need to act and take control. Consumer health should never be compromised for profit.
I have said it multiple times, and I'll say it again.
Founders who win are extremely low inhibition people.
They don't ask why, they ask why not.
They mail recklessly, they linkedin connect and msg recklessly, they run ads, build random things, mail, message, for what is the worst that can happen, someone will NOT reply. Isn't that happening already before you first mail/msg.
I constantly watch great tech builders/ great teams/ great companies falling short, because of inhibition.
In fact, in my personal startup sprint, everything was running hunky dory for year 0 to 3, because I was/ am generally 0 inhibition person, and by year 4, I had gone down in a self doubt spiral, this is too much, should message this in this way, this email is too straightforward lemme work with this, uhh they didn't respond to my mail so maybe they don't want to talk to me, lol, you are salesgirl Abi, your job is to message, their job is to not respond, then your job is to alter craft edit your message so many times till it lands and the person responds, in fact part of your job is to automate that entire process so you are just watching/ observing/ fine tuning the process and letting people respond.
All sales all over the world is that. From ads to twitter posts to linkedin/ instagram, beautiful shop fronts/ decor/ art/ web design/ case studies everything is to capture the attention of ICP, to say hi, ssup, watcha doin, and then try sell, try sell an idea, a philosophy, an ideology, a product, a service, a company, whatever
And an ounce of inhibition in this entire process is #defeat. Sales is a weird commitment to be okay with making fool of yourself. And, I kinda feel its a personality, I have been 0 inhibition since I was 5, i was jumping from different heights to try see at what height do I get how much hurt, talking about god forgetting to put the inhibition chip in brain, ohh that whole experiment of jumping from different heights to see at what height do I get how much hurt gave me two fractures, but very interesting stories/ perspectives/ knowledge on techniques to land safely, so 🤘
The comparison sounds clever on an Accenture slide. It falls apart the second you check the history.
Edison spent years studying gas lamps, arc lamps, and every existing illumination technology before building the lightbulb. His key breakthrough, a carbonized bamboo filament that lasted 1,200 hours, came from testing 3,000 materials across 14 months of continuous iteration. He didn't skip the candle. He studied every candle ever made and then built something better.
The iPhone was a continuous improvement of the Palm Pilot, which was a continuous improvement of the Newton, which was a continuous improvement of the Psion Organizer. Google was a continuous improvement of AltaVista. Tesla was a continuous improvement of the GM EV1.
The consulting version of innovation sounds like "think different and skip the boring work." The actual version is "study every existing solution until you understand the constraints so deeply that the next step becomes obvious."
Accenture charges $500/hour to show this slide to Fortune 500 executives. The companies that actually build the next electric light are in the lab running experiment 2,999.
Ah - the fallacy of the inapt analogy. GDP is a flow variable. Market Cap is a stock variable. GDP is national income. Market cap is the aggregate value of all the shares of a company. You don’t compare a stock variable to a flow variable - apples and oranges. It’s a bit like someone saying “My house is worth more than your annual salary so I am better off than you”. If you want to compare Google to India then compare Googles revenue to India’s national income. Googles revenue is USD 400 bill. Its market cap is roughly 10x of that which is approx. USD 4 trillion. If countries could be listed and have a market cap then applying the same multiple India’s market cap would be USD 40 trillion around 10x of it’s GDP
I really want to thank China for calling out the scammers in Indian AI meet.
I, and millions of Indians are fed up of this jugaad mindset and typical desi chori chakari habits of people who are in some authority.
During my college days, I was so surprised that they barely teach anything in colleges and present gimmicks such as some robot or some water fuelled car as their research. They keep students busy in some 10 fests throughout the year and several childish competitions like robo wars.
These days, scam has taken a new shape. Every random mataben fatudas college has started AIML Engineering degree in campus. They selling dream of MS from USA or UK by that. Take any such college and they will certainly not have an AIML expert faculty to teach all this.
Students in India shine only by individual brilliance. They are not helped by the system, system is their biggest enemy & they have to fight at every point to win against it.
Reservation, high competition, low seats, expensive courses, bad hostels & food, megalomaniac HOD & jealous faculties, random grading system, negligible scholarships, low package, lesser options, pressure from college & family, and ultimately race again to go abroad, a technical student faces all this all alone. All against the system.
Tech education is not like some simple arts course that you offer to increase number of graduates & distribute degrees without them attending colleges. Tech degrees need fundings, strict monitoring, liberal thinking & atmosphere, and a great campus with state of art labs.
The money we spend on beautification of cities, putting “I ♥️ Bhandup” selfie points, VIP protocols, laadli yojana, subsidies, etc had a utility. We cannot just splurge when we have such conditions of higher education in India.
Scammers like that university won’t care. They care about admissions & incremental fees structure. Someone had to at least give them a warning against it, had to embarrass this “ecosystem”. So, happy that China did it.
🚨 Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav inaugurated the Rahgiri Anand Utsav in Ujjain and performed lathi stick stunts at the festival.
The event focused on fitness, tradition and community participation.
The flyover does not “suddenly narrow.” The transition from 4 lanes to 2 lanes is not a design flaw, but is based on available road width constraints, and future network planning.
As per planning, the flyover has been designed with two lanes for Bhayander East and future connecting two lanes for Bhayander West. Since the Bhayander East arm comes first along the alignment, the 4-lane configuration presently transitions into 2 lanes. The remaining two lanes on the outer side are planned as part of the future extension towards Bhayander West across the Western Railway line.
Up to Golden Nest Circle, where five major roads merge and traffic volume is high, a 2+2 lane flyover integrated with the Metro, along with slip roads on both sides, has been provided to disperse traffic effectively.
Beyond the junction, towards Bhayander East, the available right of way reduces as per DP. Accordingly, a 1+1 lane flyover with dedicated up and down ramps has been constructed along the median to provide uninterrupted movement towards Railway Phatak Road.
This design enables smooth crossing of one of the busiest junctions in the Mira–Bhayander region while accommodating on-ground constraints.
Provision has been kept for future widening, wherein the outer side of the flyover on both carriageways will be extended by an additional 1+1 lane to ensure improved east–west traffic continuity. The proposal is currently at the planning stage and will be taken up in coordination with MBMC, after obtaining approvals from the competent authorities.
At present, the flyover has been designed primarily for traffic dispersal and congestion reduction in the Mira–Bhayander area. Necessary safety measures have been incorporated, including rumble strips, delineators, adequate signage, retro-reflective tags, directional boards, and anti-crash barriers.
Traffic police guidance is being actively sought for any additional vehicular safety measures prior to opening the flyover for public use.
