Today's #si401 workshop highlighted the important of a solid, trusting relationship between the class teacher and SNA. It's so important to have good forms of communication between the two. Class teachers need to listen to SNAs and even include them in planning to some extent.

This weeks workshop brought about a new challenge as we had to critique and improve the lessons plans of our classmates. It taught us many lessons on how to respectfully collaborate with staff in the future as we practised giving each other feedback in a constructive way. #si401

Today at the NCSE research conference we heard Eve Hutton stress the importance of taking time to build trusting relationships in order to have effective collaboration amoung professionals #si401

The constructivist learning protocol we used in today's workshop would be an effective way to teach children to engage with group work making sure everyone is active in the discussion, especially those who are usually reluctant to engage. #si401

The six facets of inclusion we discussed in this week workshop provide a structured way for teachers to self assess and improve heir practice in the classroom. As teachers it is vital we assess whether are teaching methods are actually effective for everyone in the class. #si401

Inclusion is the ability of every member to create and maintain a sense of belonging in the classroom and society as a whole. (Lipsky & Gartner, 2000) Jennifer highlighted how this should include every in the school from teachers to canteen and cleaning staff. #si401

"Change is a journey, not a blueprint" (Fullan, 1993) Change is non-linear, loaded with uncertainty and excitement and sometimes perverse. When trying to implement change we often encounter problems, and we should expect this. Sometimes we have to refocus and adapt. #si401

I found this image to be extremely useful when comparing the traditional forms of leadership to today’s desired collaborative approach model! It pinpointed for me how much leadership has progressed and how teachers should practice it and inspire it in their classrooms! #si401
