@MetalSlimeX@leerobi08433142@NextGenPlayer State of Decay 3, or Senua didn't have an annoucement for other platforms either, and yet they are going over to other platforms
@Ameri_DS@AgentRedShirt@Shark4547@Stallion83 Agree to disagree then, considering the game got age rated, they have done a quick change to try and get some PR, doubtful it lasts long. If they wanted a better statement, would of been better to keep Halo (their mascot) off PS, but they choose a game thats small in comparison
@Ameri_DS@AgentRedShirt@Shark4547@Stallion83 Thats what Sony has always done, Xbox isn't responding they are hoping to please some fans and get some good PR so their next gen isn't worse than this gen, they are trying a hail mary and hoping they can spin things around at the last moment
@Ameri_DS@AgentRedShirt@Shark4547@Stallion83 Of course they are, they have never gone to a competitor (except for live service / contractual obligations), the next Xbox will be a PC so they are pulling back from letting games on their competitor
@Dee_Batch As a publisher / dev you pay for a devkit, you don't have to sign a contract that forces you to publish, you can back out whenever you want and send your dev kits back. Only contract is an NDA to cover the dev kit and Sony APIs
@Ameri_DS@AgentRedShirt@Shark4547@Stallion83 How's it PS's fault? If there's not enough sales I can imagine they will flip flop again, seems to be the MS way, but they seem to roll the dice each morning to decide what they are going to do so hard to really get a grasp of anything they do!
@Originsingamer@Freeman_Sans@TRIPSTER0@aarongreenberg It's going to be a PC with an Xbox big screen experience, they haven't advertised Steam support, or called it out as supporting Steam, just that it will play PC games
@x713_ht@LoboDoot@SuperSpeshX@JeffGrubb Who would they pay these termination fees too? They can choose not to publish a game, there's no contracts forcing them to go ahead
@Originsingamer@Freeman_Sans@TRIPSTER0@aarongreenberg Steam works on Windows which is why it will be available on Helix. Any app can show your Steam games, thats not something that required a relationship. Steam is actively trying to move gaming away from Windows OS, which is a threat to Microsoft
@Ameri_DS@AgentRedShirt@Shark4547@Stallion83 Helix will be a PC, Steam is trying to move away from Windows to Linux, PS users haven't been switching to Xbox this or last gen, their competition is Steam not PS. They look to be doing this to appease some console warriors, but will undo once it doesn't make a difference again
@AXISPAW@nib95_ What contracts? There's no contracts to publish a game on a specific platform that forces you to do so if your the publisher of the game
@AgentRedShirt@Shark4547@Stallion83 Maybe, but thats been the case for most of the gen, and the previous gen and its not moved the needle, its odd behaviour from Xbox though. Would make more sense if they also didn’t release it on Steam, but they seem to be
@MuhammadWilson4@ADF86@Wario64@SonyOfLastation Yeah I get that, I think the damage Xbox has done this gen though its probably to late to undo, especially if Helix is expensive for next gen vs the Steam machine (which will have all the Xbox games too), its all a bit weird to do console exclusives now
@MuhammadWilson4@ADF86@Wario64@SonyOfLastation What evidence has their been to show Saros and Ghost of Yotei had PC ports in the works? For PS games thats usually done after the release not during, Gears on the other hand has been age rated for PS5 so thats clear a final copy was ready and cancelled at the last moment
