Solid advice. A pattern i see alot ( and occasionally fall in myself) is rewarding or consoling with sweet food treats. I know many people who say they eat healthy, but actually are treating themselves 4 times a week or more. But they dont mentally count it because they are considering these events as "one offs" even though the broader consistent pattern is clearly there. I'm not against rewards or treats. But I do think it takes care not to dole them out to yourself like participation trophies, but instead save them for more significant occasions.
@micsolana Five years from now some guy will be getting divorced and the rape allegation will come. "Remeber that one time after we had cocktails on the deck on a quiet Saturday afternoon? You didn't get written consent". It's gonna be wild.
@cremieuxrecueil It took me a minute to find it. Had to shift into a critical thinking head-space. I think there is a muscle needed for this to feel "obvious", which modern online discourse and argumentation does not train.
@NickJointson@cremieuxrecueil Thanks for posting this! I stared at the monitor for 10m on this question. Notwithstanding my 22 of 24, score distribution seems to skew high. I strongly suspect I have not gained 10 points in the past 30 years or so, much as my might like to think so.
@ScottPolhamus Ive strugged with this problem to varying degrees for 6-ish years now. Recently though I've had no problem. Seemingly my new workout regiment has solved it
