IT guy, sports fan, recovering Republican, believe in God but struggle with many of today's Christians. My opinions are my own, but I might share them.
@megbasham It's good to teach a variety of fictional texts. History? Not sure about that. Maybe if we actually start teaching the details of slavery. That's some real history. Teaching the bible makes sense. Compare and contract Superman vs Jesus. Good to stretch the imagination.
@Evil_Maxxing@ZachWLambert It's okay, buddy, you don't have to keep trying so hard. It's clear you're extreme. You've already proved exactly why this is a bad idea.
@GodNCountry11@RossKneeDeep Perverted males? Where did they come from? And we've deviated a long way from teaching the bible in class. But since you said I was someone that struggles to explain what a woman is, you just said a woman, by having XX chromosomes, should NOT go in a woman's locker room.
@GodNCountry11@RossKneeDeep Let's go back. Chromosomes determine gender, right? You said that. So XX = female. But there are females born with male genitals. Which locker room should they go to? Women, right? No transgender there. Just the way God made them. What's the right answer?
@GodNCountry11@RossKneeDeep It's not complicated. You said so yourself. You just don't like the answer b/c it breaks your common sense. And this is the world God created. And if that information was taught in TX schools, I might support it.
@GodNCountry11@RossKneeDeep It is very simple. God creates people that look female but are in fact male. Also creates people that are female but look male. You can do the "what is a woman" based on chromosomes. Fine way. But understand they don't look like that. It's not woke. It's fact.
@GodNCountry11@RossKneeDeep Being rare doesn't make it not exist. And God creates all things, including that 1 in 1000. So God created a woman with a penis. Does that mean God creates transgender people? Female chromosomes with a male appearance... crazy!
@thomashenryjr@Re_Spohn@sarahtexe The majority of the TX school required reading is Old Testament. And the New Testament has plenty of places that tell women to shut up and listen to their husbands. I'd still rather get my morality elsewhere.
@Re_Spohn@sarahtexe Plenty of bible verses don't seem overly moral to me. Calling to put people to death, treat women as property, etc. The list is long. Please, don't teach morals from the bible.
@MikemanCommeth@RossKneeDeep Let's pretend you're right. I'm not convinced many teachers won't use this for amateur pastor hour in schools. But let's say it is used to teach a perspective, is it presented as fiction? Is it presented as a tool to prevent human rights? Most Texans would lose their minds.
