Are people really happier in more scenic locations? What about in cities? We analyse over a million ratings from online game and mobile app to find out. New paper out today, with @thoughtsymmetry, @jawj & @t_preis https://t.co/17tm2uigek @thedatascilab@turinginst@WarwickBSchool
Goes to show that us ‘creatives’ shouldn’t get too complacent. We read a lot about machines replacing people in other industries but the response in my industry is always that jobs are safe as a machine can never design or be imaginative. https://t.co/MPhMl1cn12
Dense, mid-rise development can achieve the highest densities, most pleasant streetscapes and also cheaper to build comapared to towers - simple really...
No, density isn't the be-all-end-all metric that measures a strong town. Still, it's pretty remarkable to see which neighborhoods have the most of it; the oldest ones, which were all built incrementally. Sure makes you look at that high rise differently. https://t.co/Ho9AkK34Cc

@guardiancities Poor article full of misunderstanding or misrepresentation of terminology such a place making and mixed up facts regarding different developments in London
This is an amazing company we’ve backed since inception. DroneSeed has created a fleet of FAA approved aerial drones that conduct reforestation. The technology they’ve built to do this is amazing...and they’re replanting our forests at the same time.
This Christmas advert has been banned from TV for being too political.
I think what's happening to our rain forests should be banned for being criminal to life on earth.
This needs to be the most viewed Christmas advert ever! Do your best Twitter!
TfL have published an updated (Sept 2018) version of their speed limit map for London. It’s quite revealing which boroughs are about living and which boroughs are about driving. (green = 20mph limit). https://t.co/wBahNbmCp6
Completely agree with the sentiment of this article (& a big admirer of Parvin’s work) but unconvinced this will always produce “genuinely affordable, beautiful, sustainable, socially resilient” housing - equally easy for self build to produce disjointed and incoherent built form
This is very sensible on using self-build on public sector owned land but will also require major planning reform to de-risk development process https://t.co/6TSJIyufnJ
