I was where I do my best thinking (in the shower obviously) and wondered if I followed @smbcfo and who that might be. After some digging, I figured out I'd signed up for it in 2014. 😆 So here we go!
Tag your accounting friends, this one's a fun one!

@bradford_hardin This was a big thing with farmers when I was growing up. My granddad and dad would hit a rotating group of coffee shops/bbq places/seed companies. (Dad and granddad where rarely at the same one).
Other recruiters should learn from what @birchard_tom is getting from this firm. I'm sure it's premium priced, but the work the firm puts in saves everyone money, and most importantly, time. They use the @predictiveindex too, which is a great tool.
Most important thing for me when partnering with 3rd party recruiter is them heavily vetting for quality candidates
Time is too valuable for a bunch of phone interviews
Feels great getting a 10 page report on candidate before ever talking to them. It’s like I know them already!
@birchard_tom This is valuable and relevant to me right now. I'm curious what this costs and if this is retained or a success fee? DM if you prefer. Thanks!
1/ I’m new here so thought I’d introduce myself.
I’m a career corporate CFO.
I specialise in very large private businesses (10 figure+ revenue biz)
I’ve been lucky to work with billionaire entrepreneur CEOs, and some outstanding listed CEOs

@RegZeller From there I jumped to a family owned business that was trying to grow value and sell. I was focused on growth, not accounting. Doubled revenue and they sold for 4x to PE. I can do the books in my sleep like most bookkeepers. My value is starting businesses and growing cashflow
@SMB_Attorney @ChandlerReedSMB Totally agree on #2 in the deals I've been in on. In my experience, many unsophisticated sellers are scared off by R&Ws. They need you!
So, you want to buy a $1+ million business and quit the rat race?
Let's talk about structuring the purchase.
Getting it wrong could result in unknown liabilities, loss of acquired assets, and serious tax consequences.
This thread could actually save your skin...
Thanks @RegZeller for the boost (and the accompanying high expectations). Headed to take my firstborn to college today so I won't have a lot to say this week. Yes, I should have timed my debut better. No, I didn't plan on such a strong group of followers. Thank you for following.
