@gjgolding I would agree that historically this would be a valid theory but with the current suspension/waiver of the Jones Act is this still true? Wouldn’t GC/EC balance via shipping now?
@LeylaKuni@1_badkarma Sorry to be the party pooper but ..
You can’t buy physical oil unless you can store it which is expensive.
If you buy futures there something called ‘negative roll yield’ which means that price can be higher in the future but you still lose money because of the roll.
@johnarnold No political interest in cutting isn’t the same as no way to cut. You’re making the argument that politicians are more worried about keeping their jobs than the country. I agree.
@johnarnold When I was a child we didn’t have an encyclopedia but a good friend did. When I needed it I had to walk 5 houses down the street. Then last weekend my son made the comment that he can’t imagine a world without the internet. I reminded him we didn’t even have computers as kids!
@BrennCookk@AdamB1438 Agree inflation post Covid is what has made living so expensive, and people so mad. But the idea we can just wave a magic wand and make everything cheaper again is naive. No one’s giving back handouts received. No one’s taking pay cuts. Thats a primary source of the inflation.
@mcuban@ILoveBlueBell Really? After one of the most successful & famous entrepreneurs in the richest country in the world steps in. I worry about the people who don’t have you to step up for them like that. Unfortunate that social media pressure has become one of the most best ways to get things done
