The process to get your bootloader unlocked is so convoluted and ridiculous that it’s basically impossible. Oh want to do something on the Xiaomi site? Answer 45 minutes of Google captchas before we reset it and you have to start again. Need a SIM card to do it? Well, mines been plugged into both slots and it still won’t detect it.
