“I know of no one fact in the history of mankind which is proved by better and fuller evidence of every sort, to the understanding of a fair inquirer, than the great sign which God hath given us that Christ died and rose again from the dead.”
Thomas Arnold (Oxford Prof)
The paradox: Everyone expresses support for pastoral care for pastors, but few want to tangibly invest in it. Healthy churches think they don’t need it so they won't fund it. Struggling churches need it but can't afford it. How do we solve this?
@JeffreyPWiesner Been thinking along these lines preparing to preach Exodus 20:22-26 this week. 20:24b: In every place I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you. What a stunning posture! How? 20:24a: burnt offerings and peace offerings.

@PastorCroft@practicalsheph@PSTrenchTalk New listener here so you may have covered this before: navigating expectations of those you pastor, which can vary from church to church, but also from church member to church member within the same church. Some are reasonable, some not. Reshaping expectations can be a challenge!
@jasonkovacs I learned today that you’re headed there with David (I was talking to a pastor from his church). Blessings in your ministry. I’m big fans of you both!
