Mythos (Fable), which released today, seems to be a generational improvement in LLM capability, the likes of which we haven't seen since OAI's O1 model first released in late 2024.
It's incredible to think how far AI has come in such a short time. From Chat-only in 2022, to early reasoning models in 2024, to agents in Q4 25', to this new era of near-human or better-than-human agents capable of wide ranging intellectual tasks.
It's hard to overstate how big of a deal this model is. It shows that LLMs are not slowing down, and it's strong evidence against the skeptical view that LLM models are hitting
Huge congrats to @AnthropicAI on Mythos and to everyone involved in the AI revolution.

Understanding network effects is not intuitive. Naturally, we tend to think linearly: twice as much input should be twice as much output.
But that's not how most new technologies work.
If you are the only person in the world with a telephone, it has little to no value. Once another person gets a phone, you have somebody to call and therefore both phones become valuable. With every new person with a telephone, every phone becomes more valuable. This higher value attracts more people, which makes everybody better off, which attracts even more people, and so on.
That's what network effects look like.
It is the same with the internet.
Or social media.
Or Uber.
Or monetary networks. The more people accept Bitcoin, the more it becomes valuable. The more it is valuable, the more people accept Bitcoin.
When mass adoption arrives, it won't be slow, it will be sudden.
Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?
We gave an AI a 3-year retail lease in SF and asked it to make a profit.
The AI interviewed and hired full-time employees, applied for credit, and stocked the store with the books Superintelligence and Making of the Atomic Bomb.
