This road is the most neglected road in Bengaluru.

In the name of widening, they started work in bits & pieces even when they knew many properties would go to court against the land acquisition. This made the stretch potholes ridden. There’s no visibility on when this work would be completed.

villagers as well as IT crowd don’t respect traffic rules and start driving everywhere. Even school buses flaunt rules rampantly adding to the problem. None of the traffic police personnel take any action against these people.

Heavy vehicles like water tanker & bmtc drivers drive as per their whims and fancies

major bottleneck is the police station junction which first needs to be widened to have uniform width

Both MP & MLA don’t care about the people who use this road and authorities continue giving approvals for new apartments or villas which doesn’t cost anywhere less than 1.5 crores

So called international schools don’t teach traffic sense nor question their student’s parents on why that don’t follow rules. Everyone comes in bmw or Mercs and block the roads during morning and evening

To conclude the problem is multifold and doesn’t have one simple solution.

Most people are wrong here. It IS actually possible to communicate between two airgapped computers with temperature changes, but the data transfer rate is too slow (1-8b/hr) to be effective.

The underlying point Noam makes is true though: there are a deluge of crazy airgapped comms techniques like EM emanations from DRAM clocks that get a lot faster (300kbps).

This isn’t sci-fi. We vastly underestimate what AI can do with perfect knowledge of all of this literature.

Today my daughter’s school bus took 2 hours to travel just 2 km in Varthur/Gunjur road.

For those 2 hours, I sat there as a parent feeling completely helpless.

I work hard. My wife and I pay lakhs in taxes every month. We took a huge home loan mainly so we could live close to our daughter’s school and give her a safer, easier childhood.

And yet, this is what “2 km from school” means here.

In the last year alone, we have seen a school bus topple, a woman suffer serious injuries after a fall, a biker almost lost his life after falling because of a pothole, and many more incidents that never become headlines.

Every day, ordinary people here tweet, email, complain, follow up and plead with authorities.

We are not activists.
We are not fighting for a political party.
We are parents, employees, families and taxpayers asking for one basic thing:

Please give our children a safe road to come home on.

Today, more than the traffic, what broke me was the feeling that despite doing everything a responsible citizen is supposed to do, I had absolutely no power to protect my own child.

If anyone knows how ordinary citizens of Varthur/Gunjur can reach someone with the authority to actually intervene, please help us.
