Joshua Smith, principal flute of the Cleveland Orchestra, performs Pintscher’s modern “Transir” conducted by Alain Altinoglu. There is a little bit of everything this weekend at Severance… https://t.co/SokInmvM7D
I fell in love with @welsermoest all over again during the dress for the @CleveOrchestra Prometheus Project performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony. I'm blessed to have a chorister's view, and last night the conducting was so heartfelt and spiritual, it moved me to tears.
@opustechnica @zwoolfe I haven't, & I lived in Cleveland 12 years and Manhattan 13 years, with all that implies.
I flew 1K miles to hear Wed. & Thurs. performances. The best week of my life. Jesus, what a world-class orch! Bravo to W-M, and somebody please renew his contract until he's 89 y. old!
"It will be a mind-changing experience," @welsermoest said of the opera, last presented in full at #SeveranceHall in 1933 under Artur Rodzinski. "I know that. If 'Tristan' doesn't make you re-think certain things, nothing will." #TCO100
