@HughJRichards Love the stuff you produce: photo used = the gun being fired by the Indian Army soldier appears to be a BREN, WW2-era? Or the curved magazine is not one and my old eyes are deceiving me (great enquiry focus btw)
@only1womble@Airfix Sorry to hear that, but great your kids bought you a kit :-) Built @Airfix Belfast 40+ years ago & is possible that your model was a Vintage Classic produced recently but from those old moulds. I recommend anything badged as 'New Tool' on their website=great quality+excellent fit

@Posthorne01@SteveJChambers@Gallipoli100 He wasn't a favourite of @Gallipoli15CHTL either ... CHTL called him a 'theoretical' not a 'practical' general ... which is an interesting turn of phrase ... and perhaps meant more to military people in 1915 than it does now?
Lucas would command 87th Brigade (29th Division) opposite Beaumont Hamel in July 1916 - another day when his command would be decimated (August 21st 1915 on Scimitar Hill, Suvla Bay was another... Battle of Arras 1917 would be another...) #ww1#gallipoli
