Security Denied Entry into Namma Metro Station at 10:10 PM! 🚫🚇

A passenger at attiguppe metro station was denied entry at 10:10 PM, even though the official metro timings are till 11 PM. How can authorities justify this blatant disregard for their own schedule?If the metro operates till 11 PM, passengers should be allowed entry at least until the last train not turned away arbitrarily by staff. This kind of mismanagement and lack of accountability reflects poorly on BMRCL and the city’s otherwise world-class image.Public transport is meant to serve people, not inconvenience them.Why display timings till 11 PM when the gates close over 45 minutes earlier?
Is this negligence or sheer apathy towards commuters who depend on the metro daily? It’s high time the authorities enforce proper discipline, train their staff, and ensure passengers get the service they’ve paid for.

I don't know if you've noticed, but when Bengaluru citizens talk about "infrastructure", the administration responds with "potholes". This not only hijacks the narrative to focus on short-term fixes, it trivializes the entire issue ("just a matter of potholes, don't get too worked up").

The narrative must include fixing drainage, increase in bus density and quality, bus routes that reflect tech industry demand, allowing private shared transportation, halt in new construction permits in choked areas, road widening, flyover end underpass construction and faster metro buildout. Not only potholes.

UPSC is now testing patience of the students.

Why the delay in declaring results?

This year, there is already 20 days less time between prelims and mains.

2023 & 24 results were declared within 15 days of prelims.

With respect to the ongoing KPSC exam, there is confusion about whether there should be another re-exam, a re-notification, or if the Mains exam should proceed.

Going ahead with the Mains exam without any reforms in KPSC will once again make approximately 5,000 Mains-qualified students victims, as the corrupt practices of KPSC are not likely to disappear soon. The same body conducting exams, with its inefficiency and corrupt system, is bound to repeat mistakes and perpetuate injustice to students.

The same issue applies to a re-exam or re-notification.

The solution is to freeze all recruitments for a few months until all important reforms are implemented, and then proceed with conducting the exams.

Delay in recruitment of Karnataka food and civil supplies corporation.
Notification dated 26-03-2023 for various 386 posts has been stagnant from years. KEA has conducted the exam in the month of October and november 2023 and has released the score list of candidates on june 2024. The list has been sent to KFCSC . The delay in document verification and issue of order copy is a total mishap. Student community urges @siddaramaiah @KhMuniyappa @bggovindappa @DKShivakumar @osd_cmkarnataka

No matter how many re-exams or re-notifications take place, state PSCs like KPSC will keep failing at every stage, prolonging students' suffering, unless the core system governing and managing these exams is overhauled. Why should aspirants tolerate such injustice and continue to suffer?

Sadly, aspirants and students lack the resources, lobbying strength, or bargaining power to influence the government, and their risk-averse nature only adds to this vulnerability. Exploiting this, the government dismisses and ignores their demands. A united, collective movement is essential to combat this ongoing injustice. If not, by themselves no government is going to reform these corrupt institutions and generations of students will continue to suffer.

KPSC in Karnataka has been the most corrupt institution which has directly and indirectly impacted the development of state by recruiting corrupt officials over many decades. To reform KPSC state needs a student led intense movement across the state. It should be apolitical and should not depend on organisations that hijack these movements to further their own vested agenda.

Reforming KPSC requires bold and radical action. All politicians whichever party they belong to have all contributed to this mess and lack courage and intent to reform KPSC. Whenever they are in power they use KPSC to insert their kith and kin and loyalists inside the administration system.

Most of the posts recruited by KPSC go to those rich kids or relatives of influential politicians who can bid highest amount for the post. Students from poor and vulnerable background don’t stand any chance even if they are meritorious. Add to this the recent recruitment’s where English medium students are having an upper hand impacting adversely kannada language and kannada medium students. @Aksaraofficial2

UPSC must extend the last date of filling application for civil services exam till 28th February. There are so many issues, apart from technical issues in website, that candidates are facing and they need more time to gather and furnish many details especially related to OBC certificate. #upscprelims2025 #UPSC
