I have the power in Uganda to shut down ANY media house I want to. I have had this power since 2017. This power was given to me by my great father President @KagutaMuseveni . NTV and Daily Monitor are learning about it today.
This is very irresponsible. What happens to the employees of those institutions? What happens to the suppliers?
If preachers can’t speak against these things then they are spineless and complacent.
The economy is performing poorly and people are already struggling, and then you add more burdens to them?
That’s the problem of having power without the experience of life.
You don’t understand that without a job, a person is going to struggle to pay their rent, school fees for their children and take care of their retired parents.
Uganda, where are your leaders?
Museveni’s criminal son, acting with his father’s full approval, has moved to silence Uganda’s remaining independent voices by shutting down @NTVUganda, @DailyMonitor, @DembeFM, and @SparkTV.
This is the hash reality we now face, a country under open military rule, where fear replaces law and force replaces accountability.
But history is clear. Dictators always escalate repression towards their fall, pressing every button in desperation, until they press the one they never expected to be their last.
Uganda will be free!
VIDEO: Armed soldiers are on guard outside the headquarters of Daily Monitor newspaper in Namuwongo, Kampala.
The offices remain under military siege following an order by President Museveni's son and military chief Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to shut down Nation Media Group (NMG) Uganda outlets, including Daily Monitor and NTV.
Other affected outlets include Dembe FM, Spark TV, KFM, and The East African, all under NMG.
A similar siege has been reported at the NTV and Spark TV broadcast centre at Serena Hotel since around 12am on Sunday, where military officials have since taken the stations off air.
@RugyendoQuotes@mkainerugaba We are now reduced to begging and ingratiating ourselves with these folks. Surely, this is unsustainable and defeatist in many respects.
@mkainerugaba Afande. We acknowledge that President Museveni has provided strong leadership, and we continue to pray for him. However, the endless politicking must end. While other nations are focused on building factories and expanding their tax base, Uganda continues to prioritize Stupidity.

.@NamaraDennisMP: There is a big lacuna in the law. The opposition party with the most MPs has never consulted other opposition parties or independents in the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition.

Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows-Galatians 6:7.
Ever heard of karma? That is as a visitor that never forgets an address. What you have done to others does not disappear; it returns, in its own time and with precision.
You cannot torment, and even kill other men’s wives and expect to walk away scot-free.
God is always watching, and be sure that you will be paid in full, in your lifetime.
You have caused so much pain and suffering to others, but life has reminded you that NO TITLE, NO RANK, NO POWER can shield the people you love more than righteous deeds can.
They treat us as subhuman.
They kill our people for fun
They rape our sisters and brothers.
They torture us on camera.
They abduct us without remorse.
They tear families apart.
They drive people into exile.
They push others to commit suicide.
They rig elections with impunity.
They mock us and post humiliating images of our comrades in captivity.
Then they ask us “What will you do about it?”
But when we remind them, that they too are mortal, and that pain has a way of returning to its source, they suddenly remember the language of ‘morality’.
Go and preach that fake morality to Yasin Kawuma’s mother.
Preach it to the children of Johnbosco Kibalama., Eddy Mutwe or Waiswa Mufumbiro.
Preach it to the family of John Ddamulira and to the countless other victims of the Museveni family.
Don’t try to weaponize ‘morality’ to shield injustice and brutality.
It won’t work with this generation!
Yes, we believe in morality, but silence in the face of injustice is not morality. It is complicity, it is hypocrisy!
When developed countries are discussing how to even develop more and improve lives of their people, how to innovate more; see the priorities of the leaders of a third world heavily indebted country! And tomorrow we will blame colonialism for our underdevelopment!
