Fantastic interview with the founder of Metabolic Psychiatry, @ShebaniMD. At 27 minutes, discussion of a patient in the #KetoDietTrial for bipolar and schizophrenia, an engineer with a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder. After 4 months on a ketogenic intervention:
- significant reduction in visceral fat and BMI
- reduction in auditory hallucinations
- reduction in paranoia
- increased ability to fend off negative thoughts which improved professional life.
Any psychiatrist who wants to improve the lives of their patients should watch this video.
